\t\nIt's too crowded - you'll have to sit next to rude, dangerous parolees and mentally ill panhandlers screaming in your ear. The librarians chat too loud and create a bad learning environment. The guards bully customers. The janitors don't clean anything. The books are too old with pages ripped out. The computers are obsolete and the waiting list too long. There are learning courses which meet around Austin on topics ranging from Great Books Discussions to Portuguese, Tatting, Yoga, Religions, and Cave Exploration. This branch is small and I had a lot of trouble finding a place to sit. There's wall to wall bums from the soup kitchen across the street. This zip code/ neighborhood has an actual street gang, making this a risky place to be in the evening. I've witnessed assaults, threats, and thefts inside and around this library branch.
