Although Lakeline Animal Care is highly rated, and the staff friendly and professional, if you care about the health of your pet you will not go there.\t\n\t\nOn my third visit there with my puppy, they completely overvaccinated him and he suffered a reaction. Without even consulting me, they gave my 13 week and 5 day old puppy a combo vaccine of DHP-P, plus Leptospirosis, Bordatella and the Rabies vaccine. \t\n\t\nRabies is commonly not given until 20 weeks, and Bordatella is needed prior to boarding but was certainly not indicated or requested and the entire onslaught of vaccines was just too much for his little system. He is thankfully still alive, but I no longer trust them as they took it upon themselves to give him all these shots without discussing it with me first. \t\n\t\nThey are also amongst the most expensive vet clinic you could find, and in this case, you definitely don't get what you pay for. I have been bringing my pets here for years (2 dogs, 3 cats). Once they were all gone I waited two years to get another dog, and I began taking her as well. For one of her rounds of vaccinations (she was between 7 months and 1 year--I don't remember exactly) she got her shots and everything went fine as usual. Then they wanted a fecal sample and she for whatever reason didnt want them playing with her rear end so she resisted. The tech got another tech and they tried to hold her down. Long story short they tried to muzzle her, took her in back to try to muzzle her, since she started snapping at them but never bit anyone. Instead of just leaving her alone they overdid it. I should have known better but none of my dogs ever had problems at the vet so I figured they knew what was best since it is their job--they DID NOT. On her latest visit for her yearly exam--she is 16 months--she was fine in the office. They put us in the same room as before and she started acting different and I didn't pick up on it right away. They took her to the back to get blood and fecal samples. Dulaney came back and explained that she was snapping at people and they tried to muzzle her. Then she started talking about anxiety medicine. I asked why and she said because she would have to take some and come back so she was more calm. Long story short again I explained what happened on our last visit and told Dulaney the way she is acting is a direct result of her experience last time and it was her staff that traumatized her. She is an overly friendly dog so this is completely out of character for her. I asked the vet to see if she could try the examination so she crouched down, my dog wagged her tail and walked up to her and nudged her hand to get a pet, and Dulaney just sat there--didn't pet her or say anything to her to calm her or let my dog know she was friendly. My dog walked back to her corner. I was furious. My dog makes an effort and this vet makes no effort to comfort her or make her feel welcome. What a joke! On leaving all the vets and techs hid in the back while the poor front desk girl talked with me. She wanted to sell me a bottle of anxiety pills--which Dulaney had already explained may or may not work. I asked if I was getting a discount on them since this office caused the problem--of course not. Also I asked why I would neet to buy a whole bottle if all she needs is a few for ONE yearly visit. In the end I decided to go elsewhere without the drugs. I never got an apology, they took no responsibility for what happened, and didn't even offer to look into the matter or research what had happened in the past. I am so disappointed in this office and especially Dulaney who I now remember from my other pets. She is a MORON. If you feel the need to use this office, do not use her. She is the worst vet. I took my pets here for about 10 years and they have gotten worse and worse. I agree with the other comment that they are only in it for the money. Now I may be stuck with a dog that is scared of the vet for the rest of her life. Thanks Arbor Animal clinic, great job! ...read more

I took my 10 year old, 65lb dog in here on a Saturday in May 2011, I was in the middle of trying to find a new vet....I had y been seeing a vet up in Pville, very far from my house. My dog had a swollen abdomen.\t\n\t\n We saw Dr. Blatt, he treated her for stomach upset, and didnt want to do an xray, when I requested it...he said, well I can make this cost a whole lot if you want, but protocol says to treat this for a stomach upset. My dog had not been eating for the last 3 days, was noticeable thin, except her abdomen was swollen.\t\n\t\n $275, some metronidazole and cerenia....My pup didn't do well on the metro...she seemed to get dizzy, I called an emergency vet on Sunday they said to stop the metro and go back to the vet on Monday.\t\n\t\n When I called feather and fur on Monday morning right when they opened, they didnt seem to think it sounded serious and told me they didnt have appts, and after I pushed them...they "found" a 2:00 apt for me. UGH I realized I couldn't trust their care and called another vet who told me that sounded like an emergency and referred me to the VCA clinic at Manchaca and Slaughter, who took me right away.\t\n\t\n Xrays showed my babies abdomen was filled with fluid....her liver wasn't functioning properly and the metro had been making it worse...plus the dose they gave her was DOUBLE what 2 vets later told me should be prescribed to a dog that size.\t\n\t\n My baby had Lymphoma, and I lost her about 2 mos later....Feather and Fur, Dr. BLATT, never called again to check on her.\t\n\t\n I am writing this as my TRUE experience at this clinic, and I encourage people to QUESTION a vets decision...and double check them. Just because they have a fancy clinic, with fancy automatic scales and such...doesn't make them a good dr.\t\n\t\n With lymphoma, my baby couldn't have been saved, but she didn't have to experience the metro overdose because of this clinic and carelessness.\t\n\t\n What I think happened is Dr. Blatt didn't want to waste time with taking xrays, maybe because I wasn't an established client....maybe because he needed to be somewhere, and didnt not want to run over time....he made it about saving me money.....I didn't want him to save me money, I wanted him to save my best friend. ...read more
