That being said, we would like to release some basic information about how to choose the best publishing company to publish, produce and promoteyour book. When it comes to promoting and marketing your book the best advice we can give to any author is to be realistic about your book with the understanding of how many books are being published in the United States right now. The reason this is significant is because all to often publishing companies are promoting their marketing abilities generally at the author's cost. This all too often becomes so enticing that an individual will place large sums of money down for marketing that has no real guarantees. We would recommend that before an author takes an all in aproach to marketing their book, that they try or test one market or idea at a time. Stay away from grouped or packaged marketing plans. All too often it seems that authors are making their decisions on who to go with by what a company is telling them about what they can do for them in the marketing field. However, an author should be looking at more important things like how much is my book going to cost me to get put together, what is my per book cost once the book is completed and is the publishing company truly producing my book or do they have to broker it out. When it comes to the cost of putting a book together you need to think about what that really consists and why a company is charging the rate that they are. When it comes to our company we do not have special rates or pricing. The companies that are putting out flat rates to get your book published an author needs to be very careful when dealing with and here is why. In the Self Publishing market books come in with many different obstacles to overcome and some books more than most. From the business side good publishing companies are looking at the following: Page Layout, Cover Design, Editing, possible illustrations as well as book size and format before they would ever send out pricing costs to an author. If a flat fee is being offered and an author has an idea of just how they want the book cover to look and it takes a designer 12 hours to complete the job, where is the profit in that? This is a business! The point is basically this, you get what you pay for and it is your hard work and dedication that put this book together. Making sure that your name and the book are well represented should be your deciding factor when choosing a publishing company. The last thing an author needs to consider is the cost of their book. There are companies that are claiming to charge next to nothing to publish author's book, but make their money on selling them their books at a much higher rate.
