Janis Treasures & Antiques

Mad a HUGE list, wrote out $$ items, so not given away at auction. Most items damaged - OVER 150 items taken & gave my husband only $150 check! She expected us to donate & not come back. Would not answer - blocked my emails. I filed a complaint & Better Business Bureau could not get an answer either. She doesn't know what I look like & will check her store! ...read more

I recently went to Diane's Cabin with my husband and we found so many cute things and great furniture. We have been back twice since then and there are always new things. The owner was so sweet and friendly and the atmosphere is great. P.S. -- It's also one of the cleanest antique shops I've seen in a while! ...read more

Bradford's

Pay no attention to the review that calls Bradford's ""snooty""...it was likely written by the owner or an affiliate of the Gallery of Belle Meade (username ""poshshopper"") in response to cyrusthecat's negative review of the Gallery of Belle Meade. If you look at the Gallery of Belle Meade's reviews, you will see that poshshopper has written a gleaming review of what is likely a store with which he or she is affiliated. I had a similar, equally aggravating experience with the Gallery of Belle Meade and needed to reorder items elsewhere. I looked at both Bradford's and Sprintz. Bradford's had a lovely selection and friendly service. A Bradford's associate was very helpful; she returned my call the same day when I inquired about the prices of a few items. I ended up choosing Sprintz because of their huge selection, outstanding prices, and - most important - outstanding customer service. Sprintz went out of their way to remedy the order that the Gallery of Belle Meade botched. Even though Sprintz did not carry the particular brand I wanted, my sales associate went above and beyond and made a special arrangement with the manufacturer to reorder the items I had originally ordered from the Gallery of Belle Meade. ...read more

Tennessee Antique Mall

I probably shouldn't divulge this secret, but this mall is one of the few left to find really good bargains and downright treasures in Nashville. Sure it is disorganized, but that's part of its charm and the fun of looking. The booths aren't like the expensive antique malls, where everything has been researched and purchased from expensive private sales, auctions, eBay or from other malls, and whose booths look like layouts in an interior decorating magazine.. these dealers are the salt of the earth who get out early and scrounge the yard sales, flea markets, etc. and bring stuff in from all corners of Nashville and outside of the city at amazingly reasonable prices. You can furnish much of your home for less than $2000.00 probably in this mall. I have found some amazing artwork, pottery, furniture, jewelry and clothing at a fraction of their value. I like it too because every time I visit there's always new merchandise to see. \t\nI highly recommend this mall, even if you typically go for the more froufrou places(because believe me this is the place that those dealers shop!)... you will be pleasantly surprised at the treasures you will find and save a lot of money in the process. ...read more

Bradford's

I recently redid a (small) room in my house. I went to Bradford's for carpeting, having already ordered a sofa at the Gallery of Belle Meade. Although it was a small order (under $1500), the Bradford's designer could not have been more helpful. I had some timing issues relative to the installation, and Bradford's went out of its way to accomodate my needs. When the Gallery of Belle Meade failed to deliver my sofa and I canceled the order, I ordered another sofa from Bradford's. Bradford's experience was, once again, exceptional, keeping me informed as to the progress of my piece, which was delivered late through no fault of Bradford's (the manufacturer reported the material I'd ordered came flawed and they'd had to reorder) but beautifully made and amazingly comfortable. Their service has been consistently professional, courteous and attentive. I might add I am am not an "old Nashville" social figure and the first time I went in, I was wearing old Eddie Bauer jeans and a sweater, an outfit that suggested I was "just looking" customer. On the subject of merchandise, it is mostly traditional, so if you're looking for New York loft style, go elsewhere. But if you're looking for classic, beautifully made furniture (and can afford it), Bradford's is the place to go. ...read more

Richland Flower Shop

After the death of a relative my job sent a plant. Richland delivered the plant while I was at work on a day when it was extremely hot outside ( 09/05) and when no one was home, left it outside. A note was left on the garage door which I lift to pull into. I phoned to alert them of the issue. It is a bad practice and brcause the presentation of the product suffers. Once transfered to the owner, She suggested I put it back out there and have them pick it up. I explained this was improper because of the reason that my job had sent it to me, jut wanted to alert them of the bad practice. I was chastised for possibly living in a bad neighborhood, being concerned of theft, and finally told how long they had been in business and they had never had a complaint. Understand this plant was left free standing for 5+ hours and it is not an outdoor plant. Th final straw that gets Richland the Not Recommended, is the notice from the owner that she is not familar with the area (Cane Ridge) but will tell the person who accepted the delivery botto take any other orders from this area. Customer Service at Richland, I think Not! ...read more

This is the most amazing antique furniture store that I have ever been in. There is so much furniture, you can barely walk down the aisles, but that was okay with me. They have wardrobes, dressers, cabinets, curios, old dentist and physician cabinets and gorgeous old (wood) file cabinets. If you are looking for a beautiful old piece of furniture, I am sure you can find it here. I actually live in St. Louis and was visiting Nashville, so I didn't buy anything...and...I could kick myself for not making a couple of purchases. I can't wait to get back to Nashville to walk those loaded aisles again and load up my pick-up truck. ...read more
