Angela Floyd School for Dance and Music, LLC

I have to rate Angela Floyd as poor, which is shocking when you hear a lot of people like this studio and they say they are ranked in the top 50 studios in the US. Where did this ranking come from? I can't find anything that shows dance studios ranked by quality in the US. My daughter danced here two years. The first year was pretty good and she loved her teacher. The second year her teacher seemed to be a surly college student. (not sure of her age or background as no bio was ever given but that is my impression) She was rude, rarely smiled, and did not seem to either enjoy working with young children and also did not seem to have any knowledge of how to work with young children. She yelled a lot and my daughter started to dread going. I would be very careful before assuming this is a quality studio. There are several other studios in Knoxville that in my opinion are much better with instructors that have college degrees in dance and care about each individual dancer. ...read more

The teachers are okay and the instruction is good. My issue with them was how they ended up tacking on "hidden" charges. We're going to end up spending several hundred dollars more than expected for a 3 year old class. They 'failed' to mention how much everything was going to cost. If we back out now we're already out 7 months of dues and a $75 costume for the Spring Concert.
