This is one of the worst most run down facilities that I have ever seen. The staff was terrible not meeting the needs of the patient. My wife woke up in post op not able to speak due to surgical procedure on her throat. She had to lay there in excruciating pain while the nursing staff just walked by. The only way she was able to get any help at all was by sitting up and letting her gown fall. A male nurse was right there and eventually she was brought a pad of paper and a pen. I would never have believed a person in this much pain could be treated so badly and have to endure such indifference as I have this week at the hands of KMC! Unbelievable. I don't know if it's incompetence or that they simply don't care. It appears to be more the latter. I am in excruciating pain with a lower back problem (sciatica). Today, I can't sit or stand or walk. I had an MRI last Thursday, a whole WEEK after visiting my Primary Care Physician at KMC where I was in considerable pain from sciatica pain and needed some relief. I was advised after the MRI that I could pick up a copy in a couple of days, and I asked if it would be ready on Monday, and they said it would. On Monday, I was in a lot of pain and could not go down to the testing center to pick up the MRI. Tuesday, I had not heard anything from KMC, so my wife called KMC and was bluntly told that they did not have the MRI and that my Primary Care Physician would have to read it when they did get it. ...read more
