I am a former sales representative for Blue Ribbon Foods. I quit the company. I will not say do not buy the food, because it truly is good food. But, take a moment to read my points here and be prepared: CONS: - It is 6months worth of food at one time. You have to have a freezer to fit this amount of food. It cannot be a little freezer attached to your refrigerator. We are talking about a large, standup commercial freezer. And may I add it is a $2000 freezer, because they want to put a protection plan on it and it’s some commercial freezer company that’s making money off of Blue Ribbon. So #1 if you do not have a freezer, they will try to sell you one with the food. They will try to tell you that your food will be discounted if you buy a freezer. Okay, you’re still going to be paying for that expensive freezer, don’t let the discount fool you. - A price is never given. For anything. Heck, as an employee, I even tried to get a price for what chicken breasts per pound was..NO SUCH THING. I couldn't get an answer. So they will design your menu based on how small or large your family is on a points system. And it is not even guaranteed that the menu the sales rep puts you on will be enough to cover all of the food you order. We would be told to say we have all of these wonderful side items, breakfast items, pre prepared items to offer. Okay, you might be able to get like 6 of these because they are much higher in points. So really, all you get is frozen meats and veggies. You STILL have to grocery shop. So don't let them fool you that "oh how does never going to the grocery store sound to your family?" no. that's bogos talk. - Expect to pay over $4000 for this service.  Oh and they don’t tell you this either, but if you pay for it upfront, you get a 10% discount. Otherwise, you’re going to be financing your food/freezer at about 19%. AS AN EMPLOYEE: - I was promised things prior to my training week, by Trey Pounders, President of the company, that I never received. - Suddenly, because I did not gather 10 referrals, I was docked $200. I was never told this. - I was told it would be a M-F job. Well, suddenly my boss was forcing me to make weekend appointments, and if I didn’t have any I was expected to go into the office and make calls on my Saturday mornings. - The sales director would tell us one thing about how many office hours to work, and my direct boss would expect another. - 4 out of the 7 people in my training class quit within a month. - Terrible qualified leads. I was calling leads a year old, and my manager expected me to make those work to get appointments. - HUGE LACK OF COMMUNICATION OVERALL. I straight up quit and it was the best decision I could have made for myself. PRO: -The food actually is very good. If anything get a free sample out of them, because they do offer those. I have much more I could share about Blue Ribbon Foods, but I'll save them a little grace. ...read more
