On first contact Barbara Strowd was very polite and seemed interested in my situation. But, that was the last time she spoke with me. I paid her retainer fee and was told situation would be resolved within 90 days. After five months of my calling and emailing her (she has never contacted me or returned any calls) I was left to resort to contacting the S.C. Bar Association to assist in getting my money returned! My underage son was pulled for DUI after leaving a highschool party last year. He had NOT been drinking but told the officer he "didn't want to do anything until he talked to his parents." Officers treated this as a "refusal" and arrested him. Despite picking him up shortly thereafter and agreeing to a blood test, they still charged him. I used to loathe defense attorneys b/c I felt all they did was "free criminals." Once my own loved one was wrongfully charged, I found myself needing one and am grateful to have found Mr. Messervy. He was once a prosecutor and used to be a judge too. He does a lot of work with juveniles. He helped my son clear his record but also scared him into understanding the consequences of being in the "wrong place at the wrong time."
