This is a fantastic place to visit. We've been to Litchfield 4 separate times. The rooms are clean and spacious with a full kitchen. Well worth the money and the kids love the pool and the beach access is wonderful with new bathrooms and boardwalk and large deck if you don't want to get sandy. We brought our own coffee and creamer, but I'm laughing that someone complained about their coffee being cheap and weak. It was FREE! I believe it Folgers? There is a starbucks special you can buy into if you want strong expensive coffee. LOL ...read more

We write to give you our opinion of our stay at Litchfield 12/30/11 - 01/01/12. The location of the various buildings and rooms was very hard to find in the dark. Directions from the staff member on duty were confusing. His attitude was condescending. With no help, it took us almost 15 minutes to find the room. Nothing is clearly marked. The heater did not work properly. Instead of blowing warm air, it blew cold air part of the time. The coffee was cheap and weak, and the creamers were so old and hard they looked like plaster and did not dissolve. Even a Best Western serves a continental breakfast. At your resort the guest must walk to your restaurant and pay for breakfast, adding to an already steep bill. We paid $100 per night for a view of the asphalt parking lot a quarter of a mile from the beach. On this visit we drove around the area and found other overnight lodging, beachfront, for quite a bit less money. We love to visit Brookgreen Gardens, will go there often and will continue to recommend it to our friends. Although Litchfield is conveniently located for visiting Brookgreen, we will now recommend against patronizing it. I would like to say the women on duty Sunday morning were polite and professional when they checked us out. I have been in the service industry all my life, and I recognize value when I see it.
