The town of Hollywood, named for the holly trees growing here, is located in Charleston County, South Carolina, in the Charleston metro area. A major attraction is the11,815-acre ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge, where you'll find Grove Plantation House, which built in 1828 and where you can enjoy hunting, fishing, tours, canoeing and kayaking. Each year in September, the St. Paul's Music Festival is held here and in October, the Golf Tournament. Businesses in Hollywood include Island Carpet Cleaning and Nancys Exotic Plants. One of the best places to visit when you are in Hollywood is the nearby, 664-acre Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site, which is where colonists established the first permanent European settlement in the Carolinas and with a 12-room interactive museum, a self-guided history trail, a 17th-century replica sailing ship, the Animal Forest natural habitat zoo and 80 acres of gardens.
