Drayton Hall Museum

I fell in love with Drayton Hall as we were pulling up the long drive.\t\n\t\nWe had planned on visiting Drayton Hall on the Free Museum Day sponsored by the Smithsonian Magazine, last year. After waiting 30 minutes in line in our car, we got to the gate and were told they had reached their max for the day. As soon as I thought I would pout, they gave us two free tickets to come back anytime. Since we were scheduled to leave in the morning, we made the first tour of the day on Sunday. It was only us and another couple; and it was wonderful. As we were pulling up the drive I saw the house and wanted to jump out of the car right then and there! It was just so beautiful. Our tour guide, Bob, had been a part of Drayton Hall since the National Trust acquired it from the Drayton family.\t\n\t\nIt was a truly amazing experience, and as soon as it was over I wanted to get in line again! ...read more
