We have spent thousands with the company and save yourself the heartache and frustration! The owner Pete, blames everything on bellsouth or comcast, uses old products which do not work and then charges $115/hour to service and send bills for excessive time, that he spend just chatting and not fixing the problems. I have had multiple employees, who are the sweetest and kindest of people call as they had conversations he denies, is rude and actually hangs up on them and tell them to find another vendor! If you have been reading our main blog then you know where we stand on transaction fees. We want to see them go away from this great industry called barter. I can understand now why so many people hate all of those fees. I have always known that I wanted to help change the industry or at least do something about it but today I now 100% know we are on the right path. We just got a merchant account and WOW, are surprised with all of the fees. They really do fee you to death. They are not much but there are so many of them that they add up and it keeps things from being simple. I know that is how I feel about barter companies and all of their fees especially the transaction fees. When you take the enrollment fee, then the monthly cash&barter; fees then the huge 10-14% transaction fees and on top of that some also do an annual fee you start feeling like all you do is pay fees. The reason why I say 10-14% transaction is because even if someone says their transaction fee is only 6%, they charge 6% when you receive barter dollars and then 6% again when you use those same barter dollars. So it is double what they say because of how the system works. As we have said, we aren't putting anyone or any company down, just how the barter model works that everyone is following. That is of course until now. We are the simplest barter company to do business with. We have done a lot of searching and we are the only 100% flat fee barter company that we could find. I am very proud of that. I want to start a movement, it may not be the companies that are already doing business but maybe the new generation of barter company owners like us who will accept the flat rate fees so that we all can change and make transaction fees a thing of the past. I don't really think transaction fees are all that bad. They did serve a purpose especially when barter companies had to do everything by hand. They now serve very little purpose because most barter transactions happen between two members finding each other in the system and then making the deal happen. Will we still have to help make deals between members? Of course, that is our job to help facilitate the transactions between members but its more cost- effective now with how technology can be used. The transaction fees sound like a good idea because it helps the barter company owners do right for the transaction but what tends to happen from time to time is that owners and trade brokers become pushy because their bottom line depends on that transaction going through. I am not saying everyone does this but it does happen out there. I have talked to too many people who get signed up for a company and in all honesty the owner should have known that the business just shouldn't have been in the trade exchange. It could be as simple as someone that does so little volume that they would never trade over $100 a month. That member is going to pay more in fees than what their trading will be worth to them. Don't get me wrong here, you have some awesome trade exchange owners out there who do everything in their power to make it right for everyone. This is just some of the baggage that comes with transaction fees. Another thing that they can't offer is to allow members to do trades outside of the exchange because they would lose money. They kick you out if they catch you doing that. Here is what happens, when businesses know they have to pay that % on the transaction they tend to start trying to do side trades to save money in tough times. But with our system, not only can we allow a trade to go through even if they don't do it through the system but businesses won't mind doing it through the system since they know they will not be charged that transaction fee on the trade. It is a truly a win-win for everyone. So we will get more volume per member than the other trade exchanges because people know they will not have to pay that transaction fee. Isn't that what being a barter company owner is all about? Helping people do more trades so that it can help them with their bottom line? Of course it is and that is where we are different. We can be client focused and get people to use our system more since they only pay one flat fee each month anyway. Some say I am cheapening the industry but you know what? I feel that we are leading the industry into the future. Either you change or you will have someone pass you who is willing to change. Either way change will happen.
