About Charlestown, RI
The town of Charlestown, named after King Charles II, is located in Washington County, Rhode Island, in the Providence-New Bedford metro area. Located on Block Island Sound, Charlestown is home to 227-acre Ninigret Park, where there is an an observatory and wildlife refuge as well as recreational facilities. Charlestown hosts many festivals, including the Seafood Festival, Narragansett Indian Tribe Pow Wow and Rhythm & Roots Festival all held in August and the Ocean State Reggae Festival in July. It is also home to many national historic sites including Babcock House, Foster Cove Archeological Site and the Historic Village of the Narragansetts in Charlestown. Visit Burlingame State Park and East Beach, all located nearby.
