About Tarentum, PA
Tarentum is in located on on Bull Creek in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in the Pittsburgh metro area. The town was once known as industrial center where plates, glass and bottles were made. About 20 minutes away, visit the Andy Warhol Museum, where you can view more than 4,000 works of art by Warhol. Less than 30 minutes away is Point State Park, which is a designated historic landmark for the role it played during the French and Indian War. Notable natives and residents of Tarentum are industrialist and founder of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company (PPG), John Baptiste Ford, and pioneer oil refiner who operated salt wells in Tarentum, Samuel Kier.
