Alias': John Padula, Ivor Padula, DJ Cruize, Twist and Shout Entertainment, Five Star Entertainment, Dragon Karaoke & DJ service I only scored a one because the site does not permit a lower score. My space is also limited for this review so I have to keep this short. Details...signed contract for ceremony & reception (8/2014), John Padula (owner/DJ) cancelled via e-mail due to terrible accident (said he broke both legs, back, so on), so-called accident 6/14/14, e-mailed to cancel on 7/3/14, not successful getting deposit back. Discovered he was fine, still DJing, and taking gigs. We were able to get our deposit back when we surprised him at while DJing in a bar when he was to be in the hospital/rehab. He had no visible injuries (was standing, walking, etc). The entire situation was a lie and we do not believe we would have got our money back if he was not caught DJing for an establishment at the time. (Documented proof on hand) ...read more

My wife and I now live in the Philippines and come back to Pgh yearly. She enjoys the old "Hunter" and "Hawaii-5-0" television programs, but had only the first year of each. The mail service over here is deplorable so we wanted to get the entire Hunter and, if possible, the entire old Hawaii 5-0 series. Sarah and her group went out of their way to get them for us in the 12 days we had in Pgh this year. They had to order Hunter from Chicago and bent over backwards so that we got the entire series and at least 4 series of the Old 5-0. We will be back next year and hope to pick up the rest of 5-0....This is a job well done and Sarah and her staff deserve an Accolade as well as an "Atta Boy" Award. ...read more

Karen Prunzik's Broadway Dance Studio & Performing Arts

By TapperMom at Citysearch

My daughter has been at Karen Prunzik's Broadway Dance Studio pretty much since Karen opened her doors. She has taken every class offered at the studio: tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, pointe, musical theater, contemporary, stretch & strengthening, voice, and triple threat. There has never been a problem with classes being cut short...if anything, they run over! Karen and her staff have always been nothing but professional and very encouraging, especially with my daughter's fear of singing in front of an audience. My daughter came to the studio with a good dance base, but I have seen firsthand the heights that these teachers have taken her to. Each of these instructors offers their own expertise and experience from their years of professional performances on Broadway and National touring companies. Karen is very protective of all of her students. She has them dressed in appropriate costumes and doing appropriate choreography for their age. And, did I mention the shows?! They are fantastic! Karen & her faculty write the shows around the special talents of the students that sign up to be in it. There is NO practicing during class time. There are separate rehearsals on Saturdays with all of the main cast together which encourages a family-like atmosphere. All of the students are very close because of this. In my daughter's own words, ""This is where I belong!"" ...read more

My grand daughter has always had the talent, but not always the confidence. She has been @ BDS for 4 years and "you should see her now". She has just been accepted to PPU Conservatory of Perorming Arts, fall 2011. Along with intense classes, came intense encouragement and yes, tough love. Would she have made it without BDS, maybe. If you are sincere about wanting a future in the theater and are welling to work hard and learn from the VERY BEST. Call BDS ASAP. Karen, you know how we feel about you and you staff. With our deepest respect and admiration. DR & HA ...read more

What a terrific place to enroll your child if they have any interest in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, or singing. The teachers are seasoned professionals who have the unique ability to bring out your child's inner star, due to their many years of local and Broadway stage experience. And once it is out, they have the opportunity to show it off in a full scale musical production twice a year. NO BORING RECITALS HERE!!! My son has attended this studio for two years and has reached heights I never dreamed he could reach by the age of 10. He has been invited to sing at local events, is currently a Kean Idol finalist, and his room is filled with numerous Access Broadway and Onstage New York trophies. All this from a "non- competitive" studio, which means the money I spend every month doesn't go to him learning numbers the studio plans to use in these competitions for their own benefit. If we choose to participate, they offer separate, private classes to prepare them. My son is only one of numerous children who are achieving great things outside this studio. Sometimes a class may end 5 or 10 minutes early, but more often than not, classes go over the scheduled time. With each new semester, I NEVER think twice to re-enroll my son. It is money well spent on a fine dance studio that will one day have many famous alumni. Run, don't walk to this studio - they are the area's best kept secret!!!!! ...read more

Karen Punzik is the worst business person I have ever dealt with, unprofessional, mis-informs, blatently lies, and, violent to boot. I sign my daughter up for ballet class, my daughter hated the class, my daughter was there once for 30 minutes. It was supposed to be a 45 minute class, but they shortened because the said the previous class ran over. I paid the $123.00, they refused to refund any of the money and refused services I paid for. I took some pictures of her business and she came outside while I was taking the pictures of her building and attacked me, by pushing and shoving me. SHE IS HORRIBLE, DO NOT SIGN YOUR CHILD UP FOR ANY SERVICES HERE OR YOU WILL BE SORRY. Karen Punzik has already been turned over to the BBB, and, the PA attorney generals office. ...read more
