My mom and I have used Greenfield Veterinary Hospital for our many cats since I was a child and Dr. Babik was still independently practicing there. We met Dr. Winnie shortly after he started working at GVH when we had to have one of our beloved cats, Fleur, put to sleep, and he was incredibly kind, compassionate, and gentle with both her and my mom, who was devastated by her death.\t\n\t\nUnfortunately during college I had to take two of my cats to another vet in Pittsburgh due to transportation barriers which made getting to Greenfield difficult (can't take a cat on the bus) and had horrible experiences and ended up losing both of them due to that vet's negligence. I quickly returned to GVH and have been taking my two current cats there for years and have had nothing but positive experiences during regular checkups as well as more urgent care/emergency situations. \t\n\t\nWe have seen by both Dr. Winnie and Dr. Orosco (sp?), and I have been treated with nothing but complete respect and the utmost attention with regards to my knowledge of and concerns for both of my animals. When my older cat, Seamus, hid under a chair in the exam room due to anxiety, Dr. Winnie got down on his hands and knees and talked to him for several minutes to coax him out. The staff at GVH are knowledgable and friendly, and clearly have a deep love and commitment to the care of animals and have been in my experiences over the years always willing to go above and beyond to provide excellent care. to both the animals and their owners. I stumbled upon these reviews recently when I was looking up the number for GVH so I could make an appointment for my cat. Seriously...I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews against GVH on here. I've taken my cat there several times. She saw a different vet each time and every one of them was great. She most recently saw Dr. Winnie, who seems to have a bad rap from what I've read of the reviews on here. I don't understand why because I found him to be very patient, pleasant, knowledgeable, and informative. The vets at GVH were able to diagnose her food allergies, which several vets in the past at other veterinary clinics have missed. i have been a long time client of gvh (over ten years) and this last experience proved to me that loyalty earns you nothing! i will say they did take in my hannibal AFTER i was crying and sobbing on the phone woth them....however....they didnt look at him til the next day anyway. which was fine. i just wanted him there in case something went wrong thru the night. but instead of them offering that i bring him and drop him off as my first option jonathin gave me numbers of other places to take him. which i found out i should have. then after them charging 450 (which i wouldve paid regardless as we are talking about a family pet) i told them trhat i couldnt leave work again and had to keep hannibal there anothet night. after putting me on hold to actually ASK if that was ok - they added insult to injury and charged me another $40! as if my experience with practically having to beg them to look at him they needed that last $40 to top things off. after ten plus years of going there youd think that would help you out. NO money is more important. even after complaining i was not offered any type of resolution shown any interest to keep my business. when i just spent $2000 there in june they loved me. there are other hospitals in town. do not go to these money hungry mongrels ...read more
