We have had a fantastic experience with Karate lessons by Sensei Karen. She teaches a more traditional style of Japanese Karate than many places you find in the U.S. (as opposed to Korean or American styles), and this is what we were seeking. My daughter has minor special needs, and Sensei Karen has been able to accommodate her needs within the larger framework of the class. It has been so great for her special needs, that she no longer needs regular OT. Her confidence is improved, her balance, coordination, and even obedience at home. You can tell how much Sensei Karen cares about the children by the important life lessons she is teaching them along with Karate. She doesn't allow them to perform less than they are able -- they must truly earn their belts! -- but then due to their hard work, the kids feel genuine pride in their accomplishments.
