CCSVI Treatment/The Liberation Procedure At Multiple VAC Locations

Patients searching for CCSVI Treatment/The Liberation Procedurecan now turn to Vascular Access Centers.  The procedure is currently being offered at multiple VAC locations, nationwide.    Patients who suffer from CCSVI experience venous stenoses, which impedes the flow of blood that drains the central nervous system from the brain and spine back to the heart.  CCSVI treatment, also known as The Liberation Procedure, helps to reestablish normal blood flow by locating the blockage and using a small balloon or stent to restore the size of the compromised vein. There has been much attention and research aimed at identifying the possible connection between CCSVI and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).   Some researchers theorize that this particular condition possibly hastens the development of MS or may be a factor leading to the worsening of MS symptoms.  Research is still ongoing.   If you're interested in receiving more information about CCSVI treatment, please send an email to liberation@vascularcenters.com, or call us at 877-VAC-4USA (use prompt #6).  Our specialized team of physicians will work with you and consider your individual case in order to determine whether CCSVI treatment is right for you. ...read more

A Frequently Asked Question About Peripheral Arterial Disease

Q:What treatment options are available forPeripheral Arterial Diseasepatients?A:In some cases, lifestyle modification may be an option.  Examples of lifestyle modification include smoking cessation, medical management, and regular exercise.  In many cases, lifestyle modification alone is not enough.  At Vascular Access Centers, we can treat these patients with minimally invasive treatment options, including balloon angioplasty and stenting.  Angioplasty involves the insertion of a small balloon through a catheter, which will help to open up the narrowed or blocked vessel.  Often times, a tiny metal cylinder will be inserted as well to continue to hold the vessel open.  These procedures are non-surgical options. ...read more

VAC Walks With The National Kidney Foundation in Pittsburgh

Vascular Access Centershad another successful turnout for the National Kidney Foundation's most recent walk at The Pittsburgh Zoo! We're very thankful for all the participants and sponsors who joined us at the 9Annual Walk. As partners with the National Kidney Foundation, we always look forward to these walks that raise both awareness and money for research and treatment of kidney disease. The National Kidney Foundation puts the funds raised by its charity walks toward free screenings and education programs for current and future kidney patients nationwide. It has been an inspiration to see so many of Vascular Access Centers' employees, patients and families involved in The National Kidney Foundation's community events. Kidney walks take place in various locations throughout the country, but here in the Northeast, we especially enjoyed being able to participate in the walk at The Pittsburgh Zoo. A special thanks to everyone who came out. We look forward to seeing you at our next event! ...read more

Vascular Access Centers: Raising Awareness for Diabetes!

Vascular Access Centersrecently joined Dr. Steven Reiner of Maple Shade, NJ, in climbing Mt. Rainier in Washington State in an effort to raise money for the Anna Samartino Diabetes Education Foundation. The climbers endured difficult weather conditions and overcame physical and mental challenges, working together to successfully hike as far up the mountain as safety guides would allow. The climb raised almost $4,000 for diabetes awareness! Vascular Access Centers and Dr. Reiner often collaborate to dramatically improve quality of life for patients with diabetes and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) by providing below-the-knee endovascular procedures and limb salvage. We're proud to support the Anna Samartino Diabetes Education Foundation and look forward to our next opportunity to raise funds and awareness for diabetes. ...read more

An absolute nightmare for employees. If you are thinking of working here, I encourage you to ask on your interview about the turnaround rate. The average floor nurse remains for about 6 months. The floor nurses are treated worse than the ones who work triage. You will have a lot of pressure and resposibilities and you are expected to be perfect at what you do or you will be written up. There is at least one spy (suck up) in each dep't who reports to management about you. The manager plays favorites and is extremely weak at handling disputes or parental complaints. In an environment of mainly caucasian employees, it is mainly the blacks who are written up and fired. Their number one priority is patient care (a good thing), but it comes at a great cost for employees. ...read more
