I"ve lived in the area for over 7 years and I have never used any other tag service but Nottingham Tags and probably never will. The service and wealth of knowledge that I receive from Carrie is top notch, she really knows her stuff and is never too busy to answer questions or concerns. I think she invented the words "customer service" because she has perfected the art of taking care of people in a friendly and professional manner. ...read more

Our History....A Family business for 15 years.

Welcome to Nottingham Tag Service, where "You've Got a Friend in Pennsylvania".  My Name is Carrie Tequianes and I am the Owner and Operator of Nottingham Tag Service.  Nottingham Tag service was opened in 1993 by my father, Nicholas J. Armstrong, Jr. (1942-2001).  Nick opened Nottingham Tag Service after many years of being a top salesman at area car dealerships, including Advantage Dodge and NOTTINGHAM MOTORS, formerly HORNER MOTORS of Nottingham Pa,  where he earned recognition for Top Sales on various occasions.  When degenerative arthritis forced Nick to leave the car business in 1992, he began looking for another way to support his family.  God had prepared him for this next endeavor having providing him with a background in the business of car titles and registration from the car sales industry.  Much of what he learned came from the late Barney Ewing, the head of titling and registration at Horner Motors, and the original owner of Ewing Motors.  Nick decided to become a Notary Public and open Nottingham Tag Service.  In 1993, Nick opened for business in the front room of our home on Hopewell Rd.  He had found a business that allowed him to work despite of his debilitating arthritis. Nick was a people person, and loved his customers very much.  Clients would sit and talk with him for hours after their business was done, about, fishing, hunting, politics, God, and Life in general.  He had a way of relating to anyone to came through the door, just as if he had known them for years.  Yet he was quick to tell you where you stood if you got out of line.  He was always ready with an open ear, an open heart, and a hard time to give you too, if he picked on you, you knew you were loved, just like one of the family.  As the business grew, My mother, Priscilla Armstrong, who was always a vital part of the business in bookkeeping and accounting, became a Notary Public as well and began to learn the trade.  We then added Traveling Notary and Home appointments to our list of services.  As for me, at age 14, I started working for my father at Nottingham Tag Service, cleaning the office, greeting the customers, and being the "gofer" for my Dad.  My father held out the hope that I would someday learn the trade myself and keep the business going.  Little did I know that I would do just that.  By the time I was 18 was already learning and performing may of the duties associated with the business and for the next two years, my father taught me everything he knew, and we increased our knowledge together as PennDot's regulations and procedures inevitably grew and changed.  We also moved our office from the front of our house to the back of our house.  We also had a wheelchair ramp and deck installed not only to comply with new PennDot regulations, but also to accommodate my father who by then was aided by use of a wheelchair.  By the year 2000, my father's already poor health worsened to the point where he was confined to his chair and could only perform the most minimal official duties.  He appointed me office manager and we carried on the best we could.  In January of 2001 I officially became a Notary Public, and continued to run the business in my father's stead as his health deteriorated.  On May 6th of 2001 at age 59 my father, Nick Armstrong was called home to be with the Lord. At Nick's Memorial service held right here at Nottingham Tag Service many loyal and loving customers joined us as we mourned our loss of a great man and celebrated Nick's gain of eternal joy and the end of a long road of pain and sickness.  There was peace knowing that what my father worked so hard to accomplish in this business would not be lost.  I assured him be fore he died that I would carry on his business, and that is what we have done.  Today Nottingham Tag Service offers more services than ever before, including instant renewal stickers, online title transfers, instant tags, Free tag return, free address change, and much more. However, Nottingham Tag Service continues to be a family business.  As the Owner and operator of Nottingham Tag Service I am proud to have my husband Juan, my mother Priscilla, and my step-father Merrit Herr-Neckar, standing along side of me as Notaries, and my Aunt and Uncle Connie and Jerry Bagrosky as Messengers carrying our  work to and from PennDot every week. We have not forgotten how my father's "journey to the tag business began way back at Horner Motors. We have joined with Tom DiAngelis, Carson Horner, and their staff at what is now called Nottingham Motors, Inc, in order to offer you the best service possible, not only with your tag and title work, but with your vehicle inspection, emissions and service as well.  Together we stand to honor my father, Nick Armstrong, andto continue by the Grace and Providence of God in the Legacy that he has left for us in Nottingham Tag Service.  For those of you who have never been here, we welcome you and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you.  For those of you whom we have had the pleasure to serve, we thank you for your business and look forward toserving you again in the future. ...read more
