I have just had a terrible experience at Community Auto Service. I have had my car for five years. I do all my own work on it and have never had a problem passing inspection. There are five other mechanics within a half mile radius and I have never encountered a problem. Community Auto Service found a laundry list of problems with my car. Turn signals were not amber in color (they are), transmission mount leaking (a mount can leak?) While waiting for my car the owner hesitated a good 20 minutes to tell me what was wrong while taking two phone calls, during which he was describing less than reputable ways of fixing the cars. He advised his worker to change one wheel bearing since he had only one in stock, even though both needed changed. Finally, I was shown what was wrong with my car, during which time the owner thought I was trying to leave without paying and threatened to call the police since I was questioning what I needed to actually repair, he said he had plenty of money and didn’t need my business. Prior to this inspection, I brought my car to Community Auto Service and asked if my rear tires would pass, the owner assured me they would. As you can guess, those same tires did not pass 3 days later. Needless to say, I paid the $32 ispection fee and went to a reputable mechanic in the area that I should of gone to in the first place. Hi Mike: This is Janet Galofski with the 2004 black cavalier.....you have worked on my car many times now.....anyway I believe my car needs front brakes it's been a year this month since they have been replaced and I am notorious for going through brakes within an year.
