About Leechburg, PA
Leechburg, founded in 1850 by David Leech, is a city located in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, about 35 miles from Pittsburgh. The city, which in the past was the site of foundries, cement plants, coal mines, and steel sheet works, was the first place to use natural gas for industrial purposes. Students here attend the Leechburg Area School District which also includes the nearby cities of Gilpin Township and West Leechburg Borough. Leechburg is home to many businesses including the Addison House Restaurant and Lounge, Castle Co-Packers, and Consumer Electric. Major attractions here include the Leechburg Freedom Festival, The Lookout and the Leechburg Museum.
