I am writing this review for a few reasons, first most people won't take there time to rate a local family owned company for the great job they do only for a situation gone bad. I am local born and raised hazleton guy that my family has been purchasing from Grand central for years. We have always been taken care of when we shopped there. Always had received fair prices and the guys there seem to always know what they are talking about. Also they helped us out big time thanksgiving two years ago when our stove died and we had family coming, they got us a stove we loved the night before thanksgiving on a days notice! I bought a large sectional couch, La-z-boy, that was a floor model. I skeptical about buying a floor model and not a brand new one, but the sales person assured me that La-z-boy had a lifetime warranty on the cushions and that the hardware was warranted up to a year. I bought a new fridge at the same time, when they delivered my order, the fridge was damaged and tried to offer me a discount on it. I requested a new one and they took care of it. \t\nAfter 3 years, most of the cushions were flattened and woren out, so I contacted them with my original paperwork to request new cushions. Well, after many phone calls and arguing, I was told that I need a ticket that would be stapled to each piece of the couch for the cushions to be replaced. I could only find two of the tags, I explained that this was a floor model, so they may have been removed or knocked off at their own store. \t\nI refuse to beleive this was the only way (when I had my receipts and delivery paperwork) to get the cushions replaced under warranty. That's ridiculous and if a ""tag"" was necessary you think they would have mentioned that in their sales pitch. I actually asked to speak to the sales rep, thinking they might be more helpful, and they lied to me and told me she was no longer with them. A couple months later, I was shopping in that area and saw the woman was still working there.\t\n\t\nThey did replace the cushions I was able to locate tags for, which were so faded they could barely read them (and gave me a hard time about that as well). \t\n\t\nMaybe the warranty issues was not totally the stores fault, but either way - BUYER BEWARE ask questions about any warranty and requirements, because they will not be upfront about it. ...read more
