Hawley is a borough in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. The population was 1,303 as of the 2000 census. The borough was named after Irad Hawley, the first president of the Pennsylvania Coal Company. The borough rests in the Pocono and Endless Mountain Range.The borough is located on the banks of Middle Creek, making it a great area for fishing, camping, and hiking. The biggest schools here are Wallenpaupack High School and Wallenpaupack Area Middle School. The University of Scranton is located 26 miles away in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
