April 2012\t\n\t\nIn mid-March, my husband and I found out we were pregnant. Being new to the area, I had to research different OBGYNS. I really prefered a female and a location close to my job and home. I found the Caring for Women's information and chose them because they would do an ultra sound at 8 weeks verses another place that wanted to wait until 12 or so weeks. Being this was my first time pregnant, we were anxious to get in to see a doctor. But part of me was really scared and nervous based on the reviews I've read. After visiting them myself, I have a feeling that since those other bad reviews were written over a year ago that procedures and staff may have changed in the office because I thought they were great.\t\nHere's my experience: \t\n\t\n1 - I had NO trouble making, rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. If Monica was not at her desk when I called, she always called back by 3pm that day. I also got an automated confirmation call about 2 days before in which I could confirm or cancel my appointment. Upon cancelling, I later received a phone call to reschedule.\t\n\t\n2 - The office sent me paperwork ahead of time to have filled out and ready to go at our first appointment which helped speed up the waiting process\t\n\t\n3 - When we came for our first appointment - we liked how open and welcoming the waiting area was. The staff was all pleasant and helpful.\t\n\t\n4 - Before our first ultrasound, with met with one of the PA's who went over our whole medical history, prenatal health info, etc. She was very nice and very knowledgable.\t\n\t\n5 - A lady, Chris, comes in to do blood pressure and weight and she is very nice and has a good sense of humor.\t\n\t\nOur first ultrasound was done by the PA. It showed a bilighted ovum which in simple terms mean a fake pregnancy. My body was developing as if pregnant but there was no fetus/baby. \t\nHere is my ONLY "complaint" about CFW.... the PA is very knowledgeable and very "matter of fact" about relaying information - unfortunately, at a disappointing and heartbreaking time such as this - a little less "matter of fact" and a little more compassion woudl have been comforting.\t\n\t\nAt our next two follow-up visits, we met solely with Dr. Lamb so she could really examine the situation. Dr. Lamb is SO nice and sweet. great bedside manner and full of knowledge. Unfortunately it turned out we were not pregnant and she was very sensitive to our feelings and very delicate about going over 'what to do next'\t\n\t\nI've called the office a couple of times to discuss bloodwork, follow up care, etc and the lady on the phone (I believe it was Monica) was very friendly, patient and knowledgable.\t\n\t\nMy husband and I hope to try again sooner than later and we will absolutely use Dr. Lamb. ...read more

I read several bad reviews about this practice in regard to their poor communication skills and bad attitude toward their patients, BUT, because they were older reviews, I decided to give them a try.\t\n\t\nFirst problem..it took TWO phone messages and a follow phone call before their triage nurse even spoke to me about making a new patient appt. She told me at that time that she wrote my phone number down wrong and had been TRYING to reach me..Sure.\t\n\t\nThen, a couple of days before my scheduled appointment, I needed to reschedule it. Again, left two messages as I kept always missing their hours. Of course again, no one called me back. I called a THIRD time and was on hold for 15 minutes!\t\n\t\nI hung up and gave up.\t\n\t\nToday I received a BILL in the amount of $60 for MISSING my appointment!\t\n\t\nI left them another message today and informed them of all the above issues as well as the fact that they need to notify a patient of their cancellation policies BEFORE sending a bill out.\t\n\t\nI told them in to certain terms that if they choose to have poor communication and excessive hold times, they cannot expect patients to spend their day trying to contact them.\t\n\t\nNot a good way to "Care for Women. My wife went to this office today for her first visit. She is pregnant and high risk. She also had our 7 month old with her. She arrived early for her appointment and after waiting in a long line was given the customary paperwok to fill out. While she was filling it out, an office staffer rudely told her that if she did not complete the paperwork in "five more minutes" she would not be seen. My wife tried to defuse the situation by informing the staffer she (my wife) is an OB nurse herself and she was sure the visit would be brief. The staffer said this would not be possible and insisted she wouldn't be seen. At this point my wife decided this was not a practice she wanted to use and left. As an additional issue, this office requires patients to write their credit card number on the paperwork, which raises security concerns. ...read more
