Sand Springs Country Club

1.0

I think it is only fare that other Central PA brides are made well aware of the risk you are taking by having your wedding at this facility. I write this posting because I wish I would have known this before planning to have my wedding there. This is the one most special day of your life to share with your new husband, and they not only ruined this day for the two of us, but the bar staff was extremely rude to our over 200 guests and also charged them for drinks at an open bar that was already paid for. The Meating House

4.0

By Radomski

Our family has frequented the Meating house many times over the years thay have been open. The quality of the food is consistant. It is a welcome change from the cookie cutter chains. One of the best features is the one price soup to nuts holiday menu (New Year's Eve, Valentine's day, etc) that is always superb, but unfortunately very crowded due to the quality and price. The establishment is a family affair (husband cook, wife bartender/hostess, children waitstaff), which adds to the consistency of the service vs the high turnover chains. About the only down (for us) is the limited wine list, which however is very fairly priced. Maybe one other down is that their gift certificates are not accepted on holidays. All in all, a fine dining experience. ...read more
