Clearfield is a borough in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. The population was 6,631 as of the 2000 census, and is the county seat of Clearfield County. A popular attraction in Clearfield is Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, famous around the country for its enormous hamburgers. Clearfield is also known to be a bicycling haven, attracting cyclists from around the country due to its smooth scenic roads and rolling hills. Every year in July the borough of Clearfield hosts the Tour of Susquehanna, a bike race that follows a 21.5 mile loop around the borough. The biggest schools here are Clearfield High School and Clearfield Middle School. Penn State University is 34 miles away in University Park.
