RACIAL PROFILING EXPERIENCE HAPPENED TO US TONIGHT!!!! I am not a happy customer. Me and my fiancé had a date night tonight, no kids, just us. Decided to go to CopperJohns to try the ten cent wings. Get there about 7:30 p.m. Find a place kind of by the dance floor off to the side where no one was sitting. Was clearly seen by the bartender, cooks and what appeared to be a busser. The bartender was obviously busy so we patiently waited. Well about 7:40 I finally decided to just go to the bar and order, which was fine, like I said we didn't have kids and we were enjoying our time. So I order 2 beers a side of fries and 30 hot wings. The bartender writes down the order then looks at me and then looks over to my fiancé who happens to be african american. As he looks at him he asks for our ID's, ok thats great he is doing his job. I walk over get my ID, and my fiance' tells me he forgot his wallet. OK no big deal I'll have the beer he can have water. When I get back to tell the bartender only one beer cause he forgot his ID he goes on to tell me we can't sit there cause he doesn't have ID. Again, ok that's our fault we will sit where minors can sit, no big deal. As I begin to say ok we will move he yells back to the kitchen and tells them not to make our order, had to tell them twice as i'm wondering why. He then goes on to tell me that we are not allowed in the bar after 8pm without his ID. I ask him if we can get it to go, he said no. Not giving me any other option but to leave. As we get up to leave we walk past a large group that was there when we got there. What did we see? A little girl, not even ten years old sitting there with this group. Now, was the bartender efficient enough to make sure that little girl left at 8? I doubt it! If he was to busy to realize we were sitting there waiting to be served for as long as we did, then he didn't remember to tell that little girl to leave. Leaving Copperjohns, I was feeling totally offended, I looked at my phone and it was 7:45. Now in the midst of all this could this bartender (whom by the way makes the best martinis in town) have just ordered our wings for us and told us the rules, then allowed us to judge the time on when we were to leave. We weren't causing any trouble, we are clearly of age, and I understand the OLCC laws. I know rules have to be made and followed. I don't argue that, my concern lies within how we were treated and basically told to leave an establishment that should have served us. I don't tread lightly when it comes to racism, I never judge, I never accuse, I always hope for the best out of people. This circumstance was clearly and utterly an act of racism and racial profiling. I will speak it as loud as I can and voice it where ever I can and to whom ever will listen. I have never had this experience ever in the ten years we have been together. We are not judgmental people, we are kind hearted, family oriented people and this was a slap in the face. I will never step foot in this place ever again. I am tagging as many people as it will allow me to so they too can read my post. All those that know me know this is not any sort of ploy or game, this was a poor reality
