Cremation & Burial Care of Oregon
By ChuckSpidell August 10, 2013
Cremation and Burial Care of Oregon is a public nuisance in the Montavilla neighborhood. They operate an industrial crematory in a residential area which runs practically non-stop, during weekdays and weekends. It's loud, emits a grey smoke of human ashes, and a strange toxic smelling odor in the air. People who live in the neighborhood and surrounding areas are currently affected by this company's negligent business practices. There's a large community garden at Vestal school and many neighbors have backyard gardens in the area. Invisible ashes and by-products of the crematory are mostly likely landing on plants. The neighborhood never gets relief from the constant loud noise, human ashes, and nauseous smell produced by Cremation and Burial Care of Oregon. The Montavilla neighborhood has the right to clean air. We highly encourage you or your family not to support this business ...read more

I am posting this for the family/loved ones of James Hinkle from the Marquis Vintage Suites assisted living facikity in Forest Grove, OR 97116;\t\n I am a 49 year old resident of the facility who befriended both James and Dorothy before their demises'. \t\n Just so you know....James was often `kept at the medicine desk for his own safety as he fell down too much when left alone. Anyway.....many times I would either opt to study the Bible, or sing hymns with James. We colored and put small p uzzles together as well. \t\n James was well-loved at Vintage Suites, & he was a joy to have at the Sunday "church/Bible study-services too! (Dorothy was a kind, sweet lady who cared for James with her ALL as long as she was able to! :). ...read more

Omega Funeral & Cremation Service
By Richard December 16, 2010
I recently had to arrange for a cremation, called many places and got prices from $500.00 to $2000.00. When I called Omega, they gave me their price and told me everything it included and that it was complete, guaranteed, no exceptions. They answered all my questions and put me at ease. I really appreciated the fact that my mother's body wasn't going to be taken to some other place for the cremation, Omega does it right there. I will anybody who asks about them. ...read more
Wilhelm Funeral Home & Crematory

We just buried my mother on 3/6/09 and found that the people at Wilhelms Portland Memorial (Benjamin Ashe and William Briscoe) and Valley Memorial Park (Dean Markasky) were fantastic! There is never a time when one can be more vulnerable and confused. These men were at our side and performed their services to perfection, leaving us with wonderful and comforting thoughts of our mother as we layed her to rest. They receive five star rating from us with ease. Thank you once again gentlemen! ...read more
Jones Sculpture Studio
By michellerabin at Citysearch February 19, 2009
A family treasure was recently broken when a table tipped over. My beloved alabaster lady was damaged almost beyond repair. Her legs were broken off, with chips throughout her body and face. One of the amazing aspects of this Italian sculpture was its translucent quality. I was devastated. I found Mr. Jones through an internet search and decided I might as well give him a try. Although he appeared to be a talented sculptor, I wasn't yet convinced of his restoration abilities. I recently got my lady back in absolutely amazing condition. I was certain she'd never be able to be placed by a window but I was wrong. She has returned to her original site, on a different table, and continues to bring me pleasure each day that I walk by her. The only word I can use to describe the repairs is PERFECT. You would never know she had been broken. The icing on the cake is that Mr Jones was reasonably priced for his work. I would recommend him without reservations. ...read more
TERRY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
By Sharon Marambe-Quye January 12, 2009
Dwight and Amy Terry are the most kind and thoughtful people that can help in the time of total confusion. They listened, understood, and fulfilled every aspect of the services that were provided for my sons cremation. His death was so unexpected that my daughters and I were completly caught off guard. From the moment I spoke to Dwight, I left with a burden lifted off my shoulders. I was at peace knowing that they would do everything for my son. They will hold a place in our hearts forever. ...read more
Jones Sculpture Studio

A wonderful antique family treasure was recently damaged in shipping, and I contacted the Jones Sculpture Studio to inquire about restoration of this fine collectible. After looking over the damage and researching the artist and his techniques, Jason assured me that my Emmanuel Villanis bust sculpture could be repaired and restored to its original state. A few weeks later, I was thrilled to pick up the perfectly restored bust. Jason did an *excellent* job and I highly recommend his services to all. Not only is my antique statue like new again, but Jason was a real joy to do business with. A true gentleman with amazing talents! ...read more

My father passed in 2006 and we did not have his service there. But we had the burial there. It is a nice place to have a burial. Now my uncle had his services there and it almost seem like they rushed everything. In our culture a funeral is 3 days. But it seem like everyday they would rush everything and it got annoying! and the ladies who work there looks like they just woke up from the dies.. lol... ...read more
Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary and Memorial Park
By evlu at Citysearch July 10, 2008
In the last year they have handled arrangements for my aunt and father. Treated us with respect and dignity. They took a very difficult process, during one of the worst days of our life, and made it bearable. Actually offered to move my mother and fathers plots next to my aunt at no charge. Since most things were pre-arranged, it made it easier too. Seemed to be reasonably priced also. Would highly suggest using them, and make sure you pre-arrange so you don't pass all the difficult decisions on to others. ...read more

I was only 21 when my father died and they took advantage of me and my lack of business experience at I time when I was stricken with greif. \t\nMy father had purchased a double plot for himself and my mother long before he died. My parents divorced when I was young and my mother did not want to be buried with him. When I went in to arrange the burial I was told that I was in luck because the price my father had payed for the double plot was the same price as a single cost today and they would trade me straight across and I would not have to pay anything extra.\t\n\t\nMy father died of cancer and when he passed he looked nothing like the man he was in life and I did not want an open casket. Other people in my family did so I consented to a viewing but told the funeral director I did not want that casket open during the service. After giving the most generic service possible, which I was guilted into and paid $500 for they opened my fathers casket. I was so upset, I could not believe that they would disrespect my wishes like that.\t\n\t\nI do not recommend these rip off artists. Stay away. If you have to use them make sure to treat it a a business transaction and try not to let emotions get in the way. ...read more
