Safety Tips For Working in the Swamps

Construction is often a messy business. Though you are not always going to be working in the worst conditions, there are some settings that have more obstacles than others. When you are tasked with a project situated on wetlands or swamps, for example, you are dealing with some complicated issues in regards to the terrain. Swampy land is usually wet and uneven, making it very hard to freely move about heavy equipment. On top of this, muddy ground can be a hazard to employees and machinery. One way to combat this is by using swamp mats.   These mats are a type of temporary roads that are perfect for wetland conditions. To learn more about why these mats are so helpful for working in swamplands, be sure to take a look at some of these benefits.   Finding Consistency   Swamplands are unique for a number of reasons. Since your job involves moving many heavy pieces of machinery as well as large and cumbersome materials, you have to find a safe and practical way of getting everything over the wet ground without causing a messy scene. Temporary roadway solutions might be exactly what you are looking for.   When you take a chance on solutions like swamp mats, you are setting yourself up for success. A daily dose of Sun is a GOOD Thing! Read why!

For so many years, people have been convinced that too much exposure to the sun causes cancer and a multitude of other issues.  ok, so you should avoid getting a sunburn, yes - that may cause melanoma over long periods of continued exposure.  However, its a fact that the Sun provides a very valuable and much needed source of Vitamin D.  A deficiency of Vitamin D  CAN  cause serious health problems.  Who suffer's from Vitamin D deficiencies?  A whole lot of people!!!!  Anyone living north of the equator is subject to suffering from loss of vitamin D in their bodies, and the further north you live, the more loss you will experience. As an inhabitant of the Pacific Northwest, I too am lacking some of the D my body needs to keep me going, as do most Northwesterners. Our constant changes in weather don't afford us as much sunshine exposure as we need.  Of course, most Americans also work indoors, and don't get that most important blast of strong mid-day sun either. If more folks knew just how the lack of Vitamin D is or could affect them, we would likely see a major upsurge in vitamin D deficiency diagnosis.  Here are some of the symptoms, just to name a few:  (excerpt from webmd.com) ..." Vitamin D is essential for strong bones because it helps the body use calcium from the diet. Traditionally, vitamin D deficiency has been associated with rickets, a disease in which the bone tissue doesn't properly mineralize, leading to soft bones and skeletal deformities. But increasingly, research is revealing the importance of vitamin D in protecting against a host of health problems. Symptoms of bone pain and muscle weakness can mean you have a vitamin D deficiency. However, for many people, the symptoms are subtle. Yet even without symptoms, too little vitamin D can pose health risks. Low blood levels of the vitamin have been associated with the following:Increased risk of death from cardiovascular diseaseCognitive impairment in older adultsSevere asthma in childrenCancerResearch suggests that vitamin D could play a role in the prevention and treatment of a number of different conditions, including type1 and type 2 diabetes, hypertension, glucose intolerance, and multiple sclerosis."So, what's the best way to get that vitamin D back into your system safely?  There are specific foods that are high in vitamin D and you can also take high doses of vitamin D supplements, under a doctors care of course.  Too much D can also be a problem.  But truly the easiest and by far the cheapest way to keep your Vitamin D is to getan hour or two a day of exposure to the SUN. The folks at WebMD. state "Treatment for vitamin D deficiency involves getting more vitamin D -- through diet, supplements, and/or throughspending more time in the sun. ..."Health and wellness is just one of the ways we here atSunPipe of Oregoncan help.  Installing aSunPipein your home or business helps to ensure that you are getting the full benefit of the sun every day.  Our patented system allows the natural sun in but keeps the harmful rays out.  You will feel better almost instantly!  Get rid of that horrible depressing fluorescent lighting, take a step towards improving your mood and health and get yourSunPipeinstalled today!   ...read more
