It's been 20 years since I've dealt with the chaos created by a car accident. My first contact at Leif's was with Danielle...an amazing lady. So professional!!! My second contact was with Steve the tow truck driver, again, a top notch experience. Their team stripped off the damaged area to expose the true picture of what needed to be repaired and waited for the insurance adjuster to come make his assessment. I was kept completely in the loop by Cambria with dates/times scheduled for the insurance adjuster (who was in fact, the only one holding the process up.) I have taken a couple of my vehicles to Leif's for repairs in the past few years and have NEVER had a bad experience. Twice it took longer but it was due to insurance issues not due to Leif's. The last time, I had to wait for a replacement side mirror and was able to keep driving my truck until the replacement came in and they installed it under one hour. Sometimes guys and gals, it is not Leif's fault but when insurance companies attempt to have used parts on a new vehicle as what happened about 13 years ago to me. I had a new Suburban that was hit in front of my house by a hit and run driver. I have used Leif's for all our Auto body repairs for years. I have had them take on the insurance companies to make sure our car gets back to pre-loss condition. Just recently we had to take a car in for repair that only had just over 50 thousand miles that was rear ended. It was also a hit and run which means we are on the hook for the deductible. When the adjuster did not allow Leif's to bill certain Items they stood their ground until they agreed to repair the car properly. As I have read many of the negative reviews. If it has taken a little longer it is usually the fault of the insurance company and not Leif's. I am sure I could receive my car back sooner if I would have gone to another shop. But I have found it worth the extra time to know it is done right. I am a big fan!! Leifs specialize in EXTORTION. i signed a legal contract and had a verbal agreement that they would fix my water pump for 300 dollars and thats it. \r\n\r\nthe total was 807. and the problem was never fixed. after they lost the signed invoice they told me they would put all the old parts back and i could tow it. later that night Dean called me yelling that he found the invoice and if i didnt come back that night i would pay the full amount plus towing and 3 weeks storage! i did not go back because it was six at night and i needed to pick my daughters up from daycare.\r\n\r\n after he called back to try to strong arm me to coming back, we agreed i would come first thing in the morning. my car was smoking has electrical problems and now i need a new transmission! after he assured me it was not the transmission. i payed 800 dollars so they could break my car and yell at my girlfriend. I also bought the mini detail Groupon. It was easy to schedule online and that I did appreciate, however, what happened after that was a complete disaster. My car was actually super clean already when I came in but it was about to expire so I thought it would be good to get it looking in top shape. The car came back with soap scum on the windows and the interior was not even wiped down at all which was all the interior needed. The seats appeared to be shampooed fairly nicely but the trunk was not even fully vacuumed out there were large chunks that could have simply been taken out by hand. After getting the car I got a voice message saying "unfortunately we forgot to put your mats back in, it would be okay if you come and get them tomorrow". I could not believe it, he did not even apologize. When I arrived this AM to drop off my truck I was confronted by the owner, Paul, who abruptly told me that if I wanted to pay the previously communicated price it would be cash. If I wanted to use credit ( wanted to use my mileage card ) it would be an extra $10 beyond that. I asked him why he did not mention this before, and he became very defensive and loud and said “I am telling you now!!” Then he began to talk down to me, asking if I knew the difference between cash and a credit card. After a short but heated verbal exchange he told me to take my truck. I gladly did. There was no way I was going to patronize his business after that… Not good business practice to start an argument over a $10, visa fee ( Visa would have charged them a $4 surcharge at most, BTW). These people are crooks. Ben (owners husband) said he would perform a detail and remove dents from my car for $300 but the detail was only an Armour All wipe down and a vacuum? and the repair work looked worse than when I brought the car in originally. When I complained about the the quality of work, I was told that they spent "X" hours on it and if I wanted it done better it would be nearly twice as much more. I said I wanted my money back but Ben told me to take my car and get the "F" off his property. Had My truck washed, it wasn't that dirty. When i entered the wash they didn't wet down my entire truck. The pressure was high and It ripped both passenger moldings.
