Honestly don't know why the reviews are so bad, and I will admit I was anxious to use them after reading them. But my coworker had a good experience with them. Their customer service was excellent, they gave me a free loaner car for the duration of fixing my car. They helped me deal with my insurance and were prompt in returning any calls with questions I had. I would feel completely safe using Leif's again, they did an excellent job. ...read more

It's been 20 years since I've dealt with the chaos created by a car accident. My first contact at Leif's was with Danielle...an amazing lady. So professional!!! My second contact was with Steve the tow truck driver, again, a top notch experience. Their team stripped off the damaged area to expose the true picture of what needed to be repaired and waited for the insurance adjuster to come make his assessment. I was kept completely in the loop by Cambria with dates/times scheduled for the insurance adjuster (who was in fact, the only one holding the process up.) I don't know anything about auto body repair....I do know that Leif's advocated on my behalf to fix my car right, and all I need to know is their phone number. Thanks! ...read more

I have taken a couple of my vehicles to Leif's for repairs in the past few years and have NEVER had a bad experience. Twice it took longer but it was due to insurance issues not due to Leif's. The last time, I had to wait for a replacement side mirror and was able to keep driving my truck until the replacement came in and they installed it under one hour. Sometimes guys and gals, it is not Leif's fault but when insurance companies attempt to have used parts on a new vehicle as what happened about 13 years ago to me. I had a new Suburban that was hit in front of my house by a hit and run driver. Leif's called me up and stated that my insurance company wanted to have used parts and they refused as my truck was only 4 months old. It took about Right-click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy, Outlo ok prevented auto matic download of this picture from the Internet. 2 a week longer BUT it was worth it because they stood for me by getting NEW parts instead of used ones. Thanks Leif's! ...read more

Washington Makes Life Easier For Hot Rodders

Washington State has enacted a law that creates new registration classifications for hot rods, custom cars, and replica automobiles. The sponsor of the bill, State Senator Michael Carrell, is a hot rod enthusiast, and the goal is to clarify and expedite the registration and title procedures for custom vehicles. The problem arises because every state's Department of Motor Vehicles is set up to process standard cars from standard automakers. When someone brings in a custom creation, there's no standard Vehicle ID number and the car needs to be inspected to make sure it's safe to operate on the roads. For example, does the car have seat belts? If the car is based on a 1932 Ford chassis, but someone has dropped in a modern fuel-injected engine, what emissions standards apply to the car? The new law creates several classifications for custom and one-off automobiles. The classifications generally break down so that a car is classed as the year and model that it is intended to represent. So, to pick a popular example, a kit car that resembles a 1965 Ford Shelby Cobra will be titled and registered and treated just like a 1965 Ford Shelby Cobra. The practical effect of this law is to smooth out the headaches and paperwork hassles for collectors and automotive artists in Washington and provide some guidance for DMV officials - and that's a good thing for everyone concerned. ...read more
