Yes. Your team was here when they said they'd be here. They did the work for the price we had agreed to. They did inadvertently spray the latex coating through 4 of the soffit vents leaving white paint on the eaves and the soffit screens but I was extremely pleased with how quickly your folks were in taking care of this issue. I give you all extremely high marks for customer service! ...read more

Cleaning Tip from Tidy Experts - Shower Heads

Bag your shower head. However, your shower will never truly be clean if you have hard water deposits and buildup on your shower head. For this hack, you need a plastic sandwich bag, vinegar, and a rubber band, string, or twist tie. Fill the baggie with vinegar and submerge your shower head in it. Secure it with the rubber band or twist tie, making sure it̢۪s really on there. Leave it on for a few hours, or overnight, and voila! Cleaner shower head, stronger water pressure. ...read more

How to Fold a Shirt

FOLLOW THESE STEPS Lay shirt flat. Working on a waist-high countertop or other similar surface, lay the shirt face up, with the collar at your right. “Section off” the shirt. With your left hand, “draw” an imaginary line from the top of the shoulder furthest from you to the bottom hem of the shirt, about two inches from the top edge. Draw a second line down the middle of the shirt (vertically, from your perspective, across the stomach). Then, with your left hand, pinch the shirt where the two lines intersect. With your right hand, pinch the shoulder that’s on horizontal line. Cross over your hands. While holding the shirt at these two points, cross your right hand over your left wrist, and pinch the bottom hem on the horizontal line. You now have the shoulder and the hem in your right hand and the middle of the shirt in your left. (It will look a little messy when you cross—don’t worry about it.) Lift and uncross your hands. Uncross your arms as you lift the shirt so that it hangs in front of you. Shake out the T-shirt, readjusting your fingers slightly so the shirt hangs down smoothly. Make your final folds. Using the surface, fold the other sleeve under. Fold in half. Tip: Fold T-shirts as soon as you remove them from the dryer to minimize wrinkles. ...read more

Cleaning Silk

Silk is a beautiful and versatile fabric.  It keeps you cool in summer yet retains body heat in winter.  It is actually quite absorbent as well and this is why it is one of the best fabrics to dye.  That is why when you see silk garments they come in all arrays of colors as well as sheen (matte, glossy, high luster).   Let’s not forget how comfortable silk is to wear!  If you have silk garments you’ll need to know a few handy things to keep them looking as new as when you bought it. Silk garments can fade and lose color when exposed to light.  For example, if you have a vibrant silk blouse and you leave it hanging in your car on a sunny day, it may fade on the side facing the sun.  Silk also can fade in a brightly lit closet if you forget to turn the lights off.  The brightness of the light fades the color from the area facing the light.  In other words, store your silk away from lights. Women who use hairspray after putting on a silk or rayon blouse can damage the fabric on the shoulders where the spray has settled.  The harshness of the chemicals (e.g. alcohol) in the hairspray will take the color out of the fabric.  Other body products can have the same effect such as deodorants or perfume/cologne.  Often times the damage doesn’t show up until after the garment is cleaned.  This makes it look like the cleaner is to blame for the damaged garment. Silk garments do not have permanent color.  Cleaners call this a garment that isn’t color fast.  In other words the dyes move or fade during the cleaning process.  The dyes are particular loose when cleaned especially if hot water is used.  That is why in almost all cases we prefer to dry clean silk blouses, dresses, and shirts. While we strongly recommend dry cleaning silk garments to maintain their condition, it is possible to hand wash them.  Here are good guidelines to follow if you choose to hand wash.  You should always hand wash in cool or lukewarm water using a small amount of mild detergent.  Don’t change the temperature while you’re washing.  In other words, if you start washing with cool water, stick to cool water.  During rinsing you can add a few drops of vinegar to remove excess soap and to help maintain the color.  When drying the item do NOT wring it out.  Put garment on top of a towel and roll it up to remove excess water.  To dry, lay item out on top of dry towel. Of course, to avoid running the risk of possibly damaging the garment, dry cleaning silk is always your best bet! ...read more
