I called for exam prices at Eyemart on Coburg in Eugene. The receptionist was extremely nice and patient with my questions. I was told that the same-day payment glasses exam fee is $79. Additionally, $30 is charged for fitting basic contacts, and the fee could be as high as $70 for the most complex fits. These INCLUDED up to 4 months follow-up, retinal photos and dilation as needed. The receptionist said I could be seen that day if I wanted. When I went in for my exam, I waited less than 10 minutes. The exam was extremely thorough, used hi-tech equipment, the doctor was gentle, and clearly very experienced. Because of all the technology used, I was done in 15 minutes. I have never had a better exam, but I have paid a lot more elsewhere. I was treated well and everyone in the waiting area said they either happy with a previous exam or had been referred in by a friend or family person who was. Maybe Malee went somewhere else--"I thought I was at Eyemart?" Huh, Malee?????? ...read more

I made an appointment for an eye exam at what I thought was Eyemart in Eugene on Coburg Road. I provided them my insurance information almost a week prior to my appt. and went to my appt. this morning at 10:00. I completed my paperwork and had to wait for my appt time. I had already told them that I probably wanted to use my insurance benefits for glasses and pay for my contacts our of my own pocket. The lady at the eye doctor office asked if I wanted to look for glasses while I was waiting. When I was done with my exam, the lady at the eye doctor office told me that I needed to pay for a contact lens fitting fee of $70.00 in addition to my $159.00 exam fee. I was quite surprised at the high expense. I asked the lady if she could tell me what the insurance would pay toward glasses. She said I would have to pay the fitting fee or she would apply it toward my contact purchase. I did not want to purchase the contacts because glasses are more expensive and I wanted to use the insurance bene ...read more
