We booked a 12 hour tuna trip to the warm water off Oregons coast with Betty Kay Charters, they hooked us up with a sister ship, "Shamrock", for the day. Seating was inside, or outside for the trip, and a comfortabe ride. Once we hit the blue water the hunt was on, all hands on deck to spot the Albacore busting the surface like I'd always hoped to see in my lifetime, areas the size of football fields frothing with feeding tuna and birds. We caaught over 20 fish per hour between the 11 man (and my wife) fishing crew. The captain and mates were all pro and ready to go, flying from rod to rod to get the catch stowed and the rigs back in the water as quick as possible. With 8 rods out the back, we hooked up 8 tuna at once, 4 times, (a new boat record!) and got them all in the boat. This was a high performance, hands on, group of fishermen we were with, making it possible to get back to fishing quickly, which made all the difference at days end. World Class Fun! ...read more
