Meineke Car Care Center

1.0

By CarolynSutton at Citysearch

I bought one of the Customer Car Care Cards for a reasonable price, so I switched from having my oil changed at either Oil Can Henry's or Jiffy Lube to having it done at Meineke.\t\n\t\nI called and found out that they wouldn't book any appointments after 4pm. Since I work until 5pm and it is a drive from my workplace to Meineke, I had to schedule my oil change for a Saturday at noon. When I got there, a little before noon, I stood at the counter for probably 15 minutes before anyone came in to help me. There was no way to ring a bell to get attention or anything. One gentleman in front of me waited and finally left, unable to get anyone to help him.\t\n\t\nThe waiting room was outdated, crowded, and uncomfortable. The seats were old metal chairs crammed next to each other, and there were several other customers already in the room. The television was old, the area smelled, and the magazines were outdated. There was no way I was going to wait an hour in that room, so I left and walked around nearby.\t\n\t\nWhen I returned at 1pm, I was told that my vehicle wouldn't be ready for another hour. This was ridiculous, so I called someone to pick me up, and we left the area to go elsewhere (there is almost nothing in the nearby vicinity to entertain a person waiting for a lube job). It was 3pm before my vehicle was done.\t\n\t\nI returned to the site, found out that the only thing that had been done was the oil change, and even then they did not put in synthetic oil (they hadn't even asked what type of oil I wanted). I paid the $60 or so and went out to my vehicle, where my dad proceeded to look over the car to make sure it would still run. Fortunately, the car still ran, and nothing was missing.\t\n\t\nI have had my oil changed at both Oil Can Henry's and Jiffy Lube and neither one took more than a lunch break (1 hour) to complete. I didn't have to make an appointment on a Saturday to have it done, and both places look at more than just my oil (brake fluid, differentials, power steering, etc.). The service here was atrocious--I can't believe it took 15 minutes before someone came to check in at the front desk! I have no idea why a oil change took THREE HOURS to complete.\t\n\t\nEven though I still have the discount customer card, I will NOT be returning to Meineke. I have already flushed almost $120 down the drain with their slow work, and sloppy customer service; I am not going to put any more into them, and I recommend you avoid them as well unless they have greatly changed since I last visited them. ...read more

Les Schwab Tire Center

1.0

By sit at Citysearch

I went into this Les Schwab center on Walker road and had a very bad experience. I had asked them to have my tires checked because of a peculiar noise coming from them. They checked it and came back saying that everything looked good. As I drove out from there, the noise came back. I went back and told them about it. The lady behind the counter (plump, grumpy and gorging eyes) was rude and said - there is nothing wrong and this is caused by moisture. \t\nI wanted the mechanic to drive with me, so that I could have him hear the noise. The store manager - Rich says - "Sure, if you want to waste your time and my time. We only check, we don't repair.".\t\n\t\nI mean I am not sure what ticked him off. ...read more
