A few weeks ago, we hired Boss Contracting to help restore the state of the walkway leading to our home. Our walkway’s been around for decades, and has been cracked up, beaten, dried, wet, and has sort of grown with us as a family. We decided to have it repaired not only because it was part of our property, but also for better curb appeal. There’s a refreshing feeling both seeing it and walking on it now that it’s all neat, clean and well-finished. Told us they would start our job and stay on it thru completion. Would work maybe four hours and move on. Took them six weeks and we ended up having to let them go. Had advanced them money, part of which they said they would return and never did. Admitted the roller marks on most all the walls were unacceptable, but said only bid one coat. If they had bid two would have priced themselves out of contention. We told them we hired them to do a good job and assumed they would. Wanted us to pay for a second coat. Ended up brining in another painter which cost us almost as much as we paid them. ...read more
