If you haven't opened up your account with LimaStuff.com yet - DO! These are some great people to work with...so let's give them our local support!! Way better then eBay's over-commercialized business...lower shipping...in most cases, you can just drive and pick it up (without spending hundreds of dollars in gas)...because they are LOCAL! This is my first attempt at blogging (I think that is what you would call it). I am trying to figure out how to get more local people involved with using the LimaStuff web site. Getting local businesses to run a banner ad has mostly been in vain even though there are about 25-50 visitors to the LimaStuff.com homepage every day. The banner ads are only $20 a month. Right now I am going to garage sales and auctions and passing out business cards. I have flyers that I use to put on peoples windshields when I saw their cars along the road or in a parking lot with a 'For Sale' sign in the window. That didn't seem to provide much traffic even though I though it was one of the best opportunities for the sellers to advertise their car and one of my best opportunities to obtain a customer. The TV ads that I am running now on CBS, FOX and NBC seem to be working out the best, although they are the most expensive. I also have some inexpensive Facebook and MySpace ad running. They provide a little bit of traffic. I am going to see how thing go from here. I am having a good time and hope I can figure out how to grow this locally focused business. ...read more
