My closing last week actually went well. It was tough getting docs prepared on time (primarily the fault of the lender), but the firm made it seem as if they had no part in the difficulties. At the close, several docs had a different borrower's name on them, and the HUD was missing the earnest money. Finally, even though our instructions required that the closing packet be sent to my office, this firm sent it to the ultimate investor. When called to request their participation in correcting it (a copy of the file is required to br compliant to law), Tammy simply laughed and hung up on us. I don't get compensated on the file thanks to their mismanagement. I guess THEY must be the title company with ALL the business now.
