I first heard about iLoveKickboxing through a Facebook advertisement, and I'll admit it - it looked a little sketchy. For the amazing price of the trial classes, however, I had to give it a try. That was a year ago, and I am so thankful that I took the risk. I've been a member at multiple other fitness centers, and it's obvious that the trainers at iLoveKickboxing truly care about each and every one of the members. From the 1st time I walked through the doors, they've greeted me by name, remembered random little bits about me that I've casually mentioned, and even reached out to me when I was going through harder times in my personal life. The way they value their members was something I could have never expected. It's that sense of family that keeps me coming back. As far as the results, I can't give the amazing sounding feedback of "I lost __ pounds within ___ weeks", but I've lost more inches and gained more muscle than any other workout has ever done for me before. The trainers push me further than I think I can possibly go, but never to the point of injury. (They will gladly show you modified moves to anything that is painful or too uncomfortable.) Kickboxing not only works out your body, but your mind, too. The trainers switch up the moves each round, leaving things fresh and interesting - always incorporating new moves once you've gained confidence in the basics. On top of that, they offer these amazing member-only opportunities like Book Club and other social outings for an overall wellness that strictly physical activity cannot provide. I've only taken a few classes so far. My experience has been challenging (I LOVE A CHALLENGE). I have to modify parts of the "warm up" aka the hardest part of the class and I have to force myself to slow down during parts where I want to go faster because my technique still needs a lot of work. I love that every day class is different. The instructors are encouraging and even other students offer pointers and reminders when needed. You are encouraged to interact with others during class and it's not forced. You get to make the workout your own and you get out of it what you put into it. The locker rooms and bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The ice machine and charging station are a nice touch. Bags are cleaned after every class and the mat is spot cleaned (no shoes on the mat). ILKB Cbus is awesome! The staff is great, friendly and always willing to help you, help yourself. Great music selections too, the beats keep the body moving. I have attended 2 classes with a live DJ, and it was a theme (i.e. country music or boy bands). To be honest, I will not deny the first class is tough, but I went back for the 2nd class, then the 3rd and here I am in double digits and still going strong, loving every time I attend. For me it’s a different kind of challenge that I enjoy and it’s great stress reliever after a long day sitting in front of a computer. If you want to challenge yourself with a head to toe workout and getting that heart pumping and calories burning, I strongly suggest signing up and giving it a try, you will not be disappointed. And if you are like me and have read the other reviews, you may see people talking about the cost, it is well worth the cost… you have to invest in yourself to get the results. I used to be a member of a gym, but I never got the results that I wanted unless I paid for a personal trainer, which I did, but then afterwards I would slack again… ILKB is worth the investment because the staff has an interest in each and every person that walks through the door that has a goal they want to achieve.
