Yesterday was the last day of school. I met a mother named Sarata who was shocked to learn that i'm from OH. She said my jewelry gave me an exotic look.. She was telling me about the African American Heritage Foundation of Mauihttp://www.aahfm.org They have scholarships and sponsor events. They just recently had a Juneteenth celebration. I thought that was a little odd it seems kind of early for that. I'm actually kind of surprised that they have enough people. I've been to Juneteenth celebrations in Ohio that were very poorly attended.. Of course in Texas it's a big 3 day long celebration. If Dr Maulana Karenga had been thinking he would have made Kwanzaa in June instead of December. I can't believe he didn't take into account that most people would be too busy celebrating Christmas to have time for a new holiday.
