Hi ! My name is Miriam Lerner, I'm an interpreter from Rochester,NY. I am helping to gather information for a book about deaf folks and their interactions with hearing folks during WWI and WWII at the Firestone and Goodyear factories, as well as what went on around town during that town ! I would love to interview anyone who has information, stories, relatives, papers, ANYTHING about that time ! I plan to come out to Akron a few times over the summer and do video interviews...... any place convenient for anyone who would like to share their information with me. A History professor at RIT - Dr. Rebecca Edwards- will be putting it all together into a book or a DVD about the area ! Can you help me ? Right on the lake, this is a quaint little spot for many an occasion. I booked a small wedding here (65 people) and it would have been an overall lovely experience if not for the manager Joann Nunno. Clients beware. Her disposition was passive/aggressive throughout. From my initial contact with her she tried to turn me away as opposed to getting my business.
