I'd previously owned two less expensive hot tubs from other dealers. In both cases, the warranties which sounded good at the time only applied to unlikely modes of failure and were worthless. We bought a Jacuzzi from Ace in Webster three years ago which has been great. It finally began leaking a couple weeks ago from a pump seal. I called about the alleged "5 year" warranty. They had Mike, a very competent repair man, out two days later to fix it, no cost except for a small travel charge because I am outside their service area. Had pump rebuilt 4/11 and was told it carried a seasonal warranty. From July to August it got progressively noisier and is now quite loud. Called them several times and Dave, the owner, is refusing to honor the warranty saying it was only for 30 days. Doesn't even have the decency to call me and discuss it personally. Another employee said the policy changed last year to 30 days but not all employees were told that, which is why I was told seasonal. I told them their miscommunication was not my fault and that I had the work done there because of the supposed warranty. Feel bad for some of the employees as I could tell from their tone they didn't agree with his decision, but they had no choice. Although american pool may be a bit unprofessional as far as the service team goes, but you have to understand that the whole service team in fact is a crew of about 4 guys plus the american pool owner. Dave (the owner) is a super friendly guy who knows everything about pools. Not only does the service team have to do openings and closings, but they do maintenance also. As far as the stores go, Webster is a very friendly, yet slightly un organized store but the employees, mostly teenage boys, are VERY well trained and knowledgeable. They will do anything in their power to go out of the way to help you. ALSO, all of their chemicals work 200X better than the competition.
