Mike and floyd know there stuff.........They helped me get a $0 cost medicare plan and since my income is low I also got a $0 cost Part-D RX plan. Since Medicare Part D is offered through private companies it is a good Idea to look at your current plan each year to see what has changed. Although Part D plans are regulated by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services to at least offer a minimum of benefits what you will find is that some of these companies offer MORE benefits than the minimum required. This is good for the consumer. We have found that some of the better plans last year are not as good this year and some other companies have taken their place. Good News!! There is still time to review your 2008 Medicare health plan. Keep in mind that each plan changes yearly. As most people know the open enrollment period for Medicare is from November 15 to December 31st but what some do not realize is that you are allowed to make 1 change in your plan from January 1 to March 31st also. I have noticed that many of the large companies have either raised rates or lowered rates and decreased benefits. BEWARE !! you may get stuck with some hefty copays. I'm not trying to cause a panic I just want people to be informed and at least glance at your 2008 Medicare Insurance summary of benefits so you don't get caught off guard.
