Samson Management is a terrible, mismanaged, inept company that does not care about its customers. We have lived in a Samson building for 3 years now and in the past three winter months have suffered over 3 weeks worth of days with no heat and no hot water (some days no water at all), a leak in one of the elevators (dripping through the light fixture no less - electricity and water are such good friends after all!), and at least 5 major pipe bursts that damaged the ceilings, walls, and floors as well as residents personal property. In the past 6 months, there has been a bedbug infestation across 4 floors and affecting countless units and costing resident significant financial and personal hardship. The building is poorly maintained, management is non-existent, and Samson refuses to make the necessary expenditures to find more permanent solutions to building-wide problems. The only silver lining to this nasty storm of mismanagement are the people who live in our building, who are absolutely wonderful and caring. ...read more

It is apparent to me that for the most part only the disgruntled fellow renters take the time to comment so I guess I will be of the content ones to speak my mind. I've lived in 2 different Samson buildings over the past 10 years (needed another bedroom for my child!!), and when I moved i wanted to stay with Samson for reasons of familiarity and ease. Any time I've called the office I haven't had a rude or obnoxious person pick up, so I'm not sure where those comments come from... Speaking to the super over the years he has repeatedly told me how happy he is Samson took over the building, as the previous owner did not put in the time, money, or effort to really turn it into a pleasant home. I have lived in the Upper West Side for the last 12 years and have been very happy here. I have LOVED my apartment. My husband received a job offer that we couldn't refuse on the West Coast. I am so sad to be leaving. Our neighbors have become like family to us and I love the neighborhood. When I contacted Samson Management they were very understanding and accommodating. Don't ever bother to live here. Living there is extremlely unhealthy and you have deal with the rude and dishonest mmagement people. If you are planning to move here please don't do that mistatke. They wil make your life extremely difficult starting with moving in to move out. They will make sure that they gave enough trouble to you. Whatever real estate agent says, dont believe it. ERA realtor has no clue what's goin on with the management. On the day I supposed to get keys for my apartment, I waited 4 hours to get the keys. I had no choice as I already came there with the truck. When I went in, apartment was not clean. I called cleaning agency to come and clean. They will smimply charge for the smoking alarm, but they wont install. I’ve never lived in a building with such a sub-par conditions in my life. From the moment I moved in, I’ve had to live with bedbugs and roaches, so you come to exterminate in my apartment, but if this problem is building-wide it doesn’t help if you just exterminate my apartment. Time and time again these infestation has come back b/c it’s a building issue not just isolated to one or two apartments. The management company needs a building wide solution not just by the apartment. If my apartment has bedbugs and roaches then so does my neighbors next to me and above and below me. Our recent issue is the lack of adequate heat and hot water, once again that’s what my rent should be going towards not just the pockets of the owner and management company. I don't understand how you give this management company any good rating, please step foot into the Buckingham apartment, 144-67 or 144-87 41st Avenue in Flushing. After moving into the apartment i noticed alot of roaches, live, dead, all sizes both in my apartment and in the common areas of this complex. To top that off, it is bed bug infested. Their standard of living in that building is way below par. If I worked at Samson Management I'd be ashamed to have that building under my umbrella. It needs alot of maintence.
