I serve as Chairperson of a small non-profit organization based in Brooklyn/Queens. We paid Sofokles Tax Services to do our end of year accounting and state & federal tax filings. They made basic mistakes with both our federal and state tax filings and our good faith attempts to work with them to remedy the errors were met with unanswered emails and intentionally dropped calls. Months later they have yet provide us with our 2015 accounting, correct our incorrectly filed 990-EZ, or even file our Char-500. I was just browsing to see if Patty had updated her new address and was appalled to see this review. I immediately called her for an explanation. Patty has been doing my taxes for 17 years and has 3,000 clients. She explained to me that from the minute this particular person came in she was uncomfortable with her. Patty kindly went on internet and obtained her mortgage interest for her which normally if people do not have all the info they need, they make a second appt. Patty said she bent over backwards to help her to the point where the other people that were in the office that day said they would have asked her to leave. The next day the woman called and said she was coming to pick up her papers. Patty told her there would be a fee of $100 for the 1 1/2 hrs she spent with her. The woman started screaming at Patty.
