Reach Orchard Road, Singapore for shopping by bus
That Singapore is one giant shopping mall is a fact I cannot deny, not when I have just recently visited and been swept off my feet by the Lion City. I shopped till I dropped, literally! I dropped on my hotel room bed, thankfully, but the happiness that came with packing bags upon bags of goodies to carry home cannot be replaced by any other. Your shopping bonanza in Singapore must begin with the discovery and exploration of the gigantic Orchard Road. Similar to London’s Oxford Street or Hong Kong’s Tshimshatsui, this bustling boulevard got its name after the nutmeg and pepper plantations that once lined it in the 1800s. For someone with a fashion style sense that reads something like, ‘feminine rock’, there are not many places that I can safely cater to this need of mine. Orchard Central Shopping Mall One of the new kids on the block is Orchard Central towers above other Orchard Road shopping malls. Take one of the six super escalators to explore this mall, which includes some quirky modern art pieces and the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall. Arriving at Orchard Road is no trouble at all. I took my tickets from thehttps://www.redbus.sgAndroid app and the rest of my journey went by without any hiccups. Flanked on both sides by local and international department stores, tiny boutiques, offices, spas, beauty salons, hotels, entertainment spots, restaurants, and cafes, one could spend a whole day trawling the stretch starting from Tanglin Mall on Tanglin Road down to Plaza Singapura at the lower end of Orchard Road. ION Orchard is another popular landmark on Orchard Road. It is said to be Singapore’s first multi-sensory experiential shopping and lifestyle mall. And it sure didn’t disappoint! The land where the brands dwell, this gargantuan mall is home to more than 300 stores, including Charles & Keith, Miu Miu, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, etc. The shopping mall is an architectural wonder within itself. When you look at the mall from a distance it looks like a modern-day marvel. It is home to some of the most luxurious brands. I only came across two budget outlets that were top shop and new look. The food court of ION Orchard is considered to be one of the largest in the whole of Singapore. It has a menu with the largest variety of food in one location. For those of who are more into fine dine choices you will be delighted to know that there are more than a dozen fine restaurants here starring celebrity chefs. The best part about ION Orchard is that it is not just apparels and restaurants that sum it up, in fact there’s more than that the place has to offer!! The building is also known to host some of the most renowned art exhibitions. For chic street fashion wear, enter Far East Plaza that is situated at the heart of Orchard Road. T-shirts, dresses, accessories, you name it and you will find its trendiest streetwear option. ...read more

Top Places to hang out when it is pouring in Singapore
Singapore receives some of the highest rainfalls amongst all of the Asian countries. However, if you are on a tour to Singapore, and it starts raining, does not mean you have to remain confined to wherever you are. There are plenty of things you can do that will give you adrenaline rush. From flying your own jumbo jet without a license (of course I am talking about a simulator), to falling into the water from some of the highest buildings. Singapore is truly a thrill seekers destination. The rainy season lasts here from September to February. Based on my personal experience, I’ll tell you what to do when it starts pouring. Visit the world’s largest indoor waterfall Get on bus number 400 to reach the entrance of this man-made structure directly. Singapore has a good network of roads and is very well connected. This makes traveling completely hassle free and convenient. If you are looking forward to visit all of the above places then I recommend you to travel by bus as not only will it save you some money but also time. Check outhttps://www.redbus.sgfor quick ticket booking and awesome discounts!! Okay, frankly speaking I cannot guarantee you that you will remain dry if you are going to stand right up close to the waterfall. You are ought to get somewhat wet. It is the world’s biggest manmade greenhouse and is visited by lakhs of people all throughout the year. Located on 18 Marina Gardens drive, the structure is truly an architectural marvel. Singapore is a hot country, I mean the weather. People here are figuring out their own ways to cool themselves off. So initially, if you talk about visiting this waterfall which is in a glass dome, it feels like a man-made sweat disaster. However the irony is that, the moment you enter, you feel the need to grab on a jacket. The temperatures inside are naturally kept low to replicate the damp and the cool atmosphere which is present on the tropical mountains. The moment you reach the top of the structure, you will come across the “Lost World” section. The Lost World consists of a colourful car made up of lilies, orchids and sunflowers. Even if you don’t have a thing for flowers, a visit to this place will surely make you fall in love with them. The structure is made up of enormous panes of glass with huge steel grids and no use of concrete at all. The structure is 35 meters tall and is spread across 8 hectares of land. The temperature is maintained between 23 degrees to 25 degree C. It features plants from South-east Asia and middle and South-America. There are different levels here and each of these levels here have a different theme. It is home to some of the most diverse vegetation’s in the world under one roof. Open from 9AM to 9PM daily, 7 days a week, make sure to visit this place when you are in Singapore. ...read more
