I find this site extremely helpful. My door was broken into on the First of the year. I was told by my complex that i can't get my door until July 12, 2013. I called 311 I got my door on the third week of Jan. I do have friends that had helped as well but they got the job done. I love my 311 providers (depends on who answers the phone). ...read more

Almost a year ago the above apartment flooded and ran down two floors, including into my apartment. I am still dealing with the issue of the walls and floors being ruined. Workers would come in and out of my apartment without my permission. I did on occasion give them permission to enter when i wasn't home, but only for those times. Later the management used my permission to enter on those few occasions to justify them entering my home UNANNOUNCED. \t\n\t\nTen months later, it is still not resolved. The paint is chipping, the floors are moldy and ruined. The management office is less than helpful with their staff. Their communication was horrible. It would take weeks to receive a reply (if any) and then so was met with passive aggressive hostility. Or in most cases, not met with a response at all. D. Sabintino was notorious for not responding. \t\n\t\nThen entering my home, J. Yasser, the manager of something (for he never introduced himself when entering my home) was completely incompetent and tried to blame me (the tenant) for not handling the situation properly. He gave smirky smile to his staff when I tried to explain myself. He didn't even acknowledge the fact that the poor workmanship, poor customer service and time to complete it were completely unacceptable. He was selective about his facts and was extremely arrogant in his demeanor. His manner was hostile and unprofessional. He took no responsibility for the poor customer service, and was outright aggressive. He was very selective about what information he brought in, and feigned ignorance when presented with the truths. \t\n\t\nWhen dealing with old building, I know there is a certain amount of issues that come with them. However, I do not accept that the office that is supposed to be there to assist the tenants should behave this way. I will never again rent nor promote ANY buildings under this management. ...read more

I lived in Stuy Town for two years, and for the most part think it's really great. The apartments are completely redone and really nice, and rents have come down considerable since the financial crisis (unfortunately I missed out on that). It has a great neighborhoody feel since it's not right on the street like almost all apartments in NYC, and many other cool things: basketball, volleyball, ping pong, bocce ball, water fountain, and a great lawn where tons of people come to sun in the summer. It's great for families too, since kids run around together and feel really safe. I just moved out because I didn't want a roommate anymore (and rent was too expensive at rate I was paying). The only other negative think I can say is that they charge a ridiculous amount of money to open your door for you if you are locked out ($50). ...read more
