The salt content is so high in the coal it appears intentional. The "fines" mess up my "pusher", and break it. My machine broke after using this coal, and the white salt rings are on everything, and the salt damage to my machine caused me to have to replace pieces. The coal was loaded with salt and "fines", which messed up my equipment. Now, I'm washing and filtering the coal before I'm burning it. The "fines" crackle and pop and throw way too much unburned coal off into the bucket. While I did enjoy them, the mother and son were nice, the product damaged my equipment. I've also burned twice as much, likely because it has too much fines in it, which do not generate heat. I can put the coal in a stainless colender, and salt forms white ghosts around every whole.
