Not good. Very unprofessional with poor customer service. I thought they would be a bit more welcoming to build business but not friendly at all. There are better places for threading. Didn't try any other services and I wouldn't. What bothered me was that they charged me after I got threading from a girl who was clearly a beginner. I was clearly unhappy and clearly leaving in pain. I stopped her in the middle, paid and left. No apology nothing. Well, no more business for you and here's a warning for all others! You don't charge for a service not performed by a professional at a salon! ...read more

MMA Acrylic-Poisonous!

Important&Useful; Information   MMA Acrylic-Poisonous! The use of MMA acrylic found at salons that do not care about their clients nails or well being!  MMA is a liquid monomer used for acrylic nails and used by salons that are just out to make a quick buck.  MMA or methyl methacrylate, is considered poisonous by the FDA and is prohibited, since the 1970's.  MMA nails are very ridged, do not bend or have the flexibility to break.  When the MMA nail finally does break it will break the natural nail with it and cause severe damage.  To give you an idea, MMA is also used to make bulletproof glass and shatterproof eyeglasses.    Today's acrylic monomers (liquid) are made with Ethyl Methacrylate (EMA) due to its inherent flexibility.    Acrylic polymers (powder) contain 70% EMA and 30% MMA. This combo of chemicals create an enhancement this is both strong and flexible and mimics the natural nails strength and flexibility.  MMA in its liquid form has been banned for use in the nail industry due to the severity of allergic reaction and damage to the natural nail plate.  It adheres so tightly to the nail plate that it can literally rip the nail plate from the nail bed due to heavy pressure from a blow or trauma to the nail.  MMA is so hard that it cannot be safely removed from the nail plate by soaking in any form of remover, it must be filed from the nail plate with a heavy abrasive.      How do you know if the salon you're going to is using MMA?   1.  MMA has a unusually strong or strange odor which doesn't smell like other acrylic liquids.  This odor is present during application and when filing cured product (during a fill-in or repair)   2.  Enhancements which are extremely hard and very difficult to file even with coarse abrasives.   3.  Enhancements that will not soak off in solvents designed to remove acrylics.   4.  Cloudy or milky color when cured.   5.  Low priced fills and full sets (MMA is 1/3 the cost of good products)6. Unlabeled containers-technician will not show or tell the client what brand of product is being used.   ...read more
