Was forced to move from my apartment due to ROACH INFESTATION. We are a very clean couple of people and never imagined a problem like this could occur. I can deal with noisy kids and a leaking facet here or there. However, this problem was so bad the roaches have moved with us! So far I have moved apartments with no assistance. Also on a monthly basis I am forced to empty my entire living area for the pest control service to spray.At this point I believe most of my belongings have been ruined due to the infestation and will have to be replaced without reimbursement. I just hope once I am done with school I can afford to move from this SLUM INFESTED ROACH apartment and start a new life free of these disease carrying vermin. ...read more

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 15, 2006 This fall marks the beginning of a relationship between Polis Realty, the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning and ArtVoice. The scholarship is equivalent to a graduate assistantship. One student is chosen to receive the scholarship to write a weekly article for ArtVoice on contemporary architecture and design. Article topics are taken from activity in the Department, exhibits, events, lectures and external issues surrounding contemporary architecture. J-M Reed, CEO and co-founder of Polis Realty is graduated from the University at Buffao with a BS in Business Administration and Master’s in Architecture. Reed developed this idea as a way to promote both the school and contemporary design as it relates to Western New York and brought the plan to Mehrdad Hadighi, chair of the University at Buffalo’s Department of Architecture and ArtVoice. All worked together developing the nuances of the program. Hadighi is very excited about the program. It gives the Department the opportunity to provide a student with a scholarship while emphasizing the significance of architecture to the public. He thinks it is a fantastic program, and that promoting discussions of contemporary architecture is a must in a region with such a spectacular history of architecture. The scholarship-funded article will allow readers to be informed about issues of architecture we face today. This year’s recipient is Albert Chao. Chao is a first year student in the 3.5 year Graduate architecture program at UB. He earned his bachelor’s degree in art at UB and was an honors student.
